should have given one star. I am giving two only because of the good service and the cleanest bathroom I have ever seen. The waiters were friendly and helpful but that is not enough to like a restaurant. Obviously there are major problems in the kitchen. We made a reservation and there was a 10 euro fee for that, a policy that sounds unreasonable to be honest. We ordered a caprese salad, a tartufata pasta and a carbonara Verde. The salad was not something special, the tomatoes were tasteless. We have had better. Our pasta plates came an hour after our order and twenty minutes after we asked our waitress about the delay and she said that our pasta is being cooked. It's pasta, why did it take so long? We are sure that the cooks just forgot about our order. In the meantime, customers that came later than us were already eating. There was a group of people that apparently was friends with the chef. He kept coming at the dining area talking to and fooling around with his friends instead of cooking our food that was so delayed. Eventually after a delay of more than an hour, we had our pasta. The tartufata was ok... The carbonara verde was supposed to have burrata according to the menu but our dish didn't. The waitress said that it was in the sauce. Why ruin burrata like that? Moreover, even though it's stated on the menu that tagliatelle is used for these two dishes, we were served spaghetti, plain spaghetti from the super market. Original Italian restaurants have handmade pasta. There was no information about the change in the pasta type. Our waitress Iris explained that maybe there was no more tagliatelle. However, that is something the customer needs to know in advance. We told her our complaints and she offered to make a compensation by not charging the Verde carbonara, a limoncello drink and two desserts. It was a nice move. We had also ordered in advance a calzone primavera to go. We ate it later that evening at home and it was good. The desserts however were stale and I guess that is why they were given to us for free. Apparently they were left unsold two or three days ago and wanted to get rid of them. Moreover, at the payment of the bill all customers are offered some chocolate pralines. The waiter brings a bowl full of chocolate and customer is allowed to take 4-5. Why bring a whole bowl for that? Offer straight away the 4-5 pralines. Don't be petty. Overall not a positive experience. Not recommended. We chose this restaurant because of the good reviews and regretted it. Overrated food, bad restaurant policy and unprofessional...
Read moreIf you're looking for an authentic Italian culinary experience, this place is a must-visit! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly and offered a glass of wine as a welcoming gesture. We decided to start with a snack (foccacia al tartufu) and then moved on to our main course, La Prima Supreme pizza and Tartufata pizzawhich was accompanied by a delicious tiramisu. The dishes were all impeccably prepared and bursting with flavor. I especially recommend the la Prima Supreme pizza, which was simply outstanding.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, with beaming smiles that made us feel right at home. The level of attention and care they gave to us was top-notch. The bathroom was also exceptionally clean, and we were pleasantly surprised to find hand moisturizer available for guests to use.
One thing to note is that the place is not wheelchair accessible. We were happy to leave a tip since the option was available on the card reader.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable Italian dining experience. I can't wait to visit again on my next trip to Tallin!
What I found particularly impressive about La Prima Pizza Vanalinn is their unique approach to the menu. They've taken inspiration from Italy and perfected it to suit Nordic tastes, resulting in a truly remarkable culinary experience. The restaurant's centerpiece, a 50-year-old lemon tree brought all the way from Tuscany, adds a special touch to the atmosphere.
I also appreciate that La Prima Pizza Vanalinn supports the Estonian Maternity Hospital Support Fund with each purchase made. It's always great to see businesses giving back to the community.
Overall, I highly recommend La Prima Pizza Vanalinn for anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. The combination of Italian and Nordic flavors, along with the charming atmosphere and support for a great cause, make this restaurant...
