Mikkeller Tallinn Old Town — Restaurant in Tallinn

Hipster hell with menu dissociation disorder. Felt like a trendy tourist trap. The sign said ‘cold pils’, so we went in, we ordered beers, a Cheese Plate and Homemade Chips. BIG MISTAKE.

The beers were not pilsners, it was clearly a hoppy IPA beer. Well ok, wrong labeled beer. We asked the guy, who denied it being an IPA. At most he said it was a ‘hoppy’ pils.

The cheese plate they brought us were a few scattered irregular chunks of whatever cheese (pic attached). The chips they brought were like extra fried supermarket chips (other pic attached).

I don’t ask for much, just some beer, cheese and chips, how hard can it be?

Tourist trap? Twenty-year-olds who took a jab at running a bar? Who knows, but you better stay away from this unless you’re feeling like having a...

Looooved this place and the vibe. It’s not the same as the one in Viru (I’ve seen some comments about this and I came expecting the same). It’s also owned by Mikkeller but the restaurant side is another world.

A bit overpriced given the size of the dishes, but giving 5 stars because the taste of all we ordered was truly awesome. After trying 4 different plates I’m recommending the meatballs!

It’s not a place to eat and get full (and definitely not everyday because of the prices), but one to splurge for a special occasion.

They use great products to cook and the kitchen is really to a very high standard (we spoke with some of the chefs). They are all local, high quality sourced and hence the final price.

Overall I’d recommend and I’m coming back, I need to try...

Mikkeller Bar in the Old Town is truly exceptional. Mikkeller bars are renowned for their unique and compelling interior designs, and this one is no exception. The ambiance is superb, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere for both beverages and dining.

I must commend the culinary experience as well; the Wagyu beef burger was a revelation, an absolute masterpiece of taste and presentation. What sets this place apart is its extensive and diverse selection of beers. There's something to satisfy every palate, making it a haven for beer enthusiasts.
