My first foray into eating Georgian food and I can say I am very impressed! We attended Lendav Maaler with our friends and the host suggested we sampled most of the dishes on the menu between us all.
The starters were a mix of salads, crumbed polenta, crumbed cheese sticks and various vegetable based items, and all were absolutely delicious. Next up were the mains, and all again were very tasty, with the authentic take on garlic chicken and bread dish from a small mountain village of Georgia being my personal favorite, although I would be happy ordering any of them. The Georgian take on dumplings is must try too!
For desert we elected to have the original dish the host put on the menu, a Georgian style donut....wow, I was glad I had a little room left to fit that in.
The prices were very fair for the high quality of food, and everyone at our table of 7 sincerely enjoyed the food.
The host has some Georgian modern art on the walls (she explained this was tied to the name of the restaurant, a famous Georgian artist). The beer and wine selection had something for everyone.
The service was top notch and the decor modern, fresh and clean. I will definitely be going back to this place in the future both for social eating and for business lunches or dinners.
Parking was ample in the area, with some directly out the front of the entrance.
If you love Georgian food or want to try it, I highly recommend this restaurant. Thanks Lendav Maaler for a great long lunch. We will see you again...
Read moreModern Georgian food - already sounds like something interesting and it was so taste something different that is still Georgian but not Georgian as you'd expect - shashlik, adjika etc. This place has very unusual dishes, with a modern touch. We had gobi, khachapuri, landav maaler salad and khinkali. The place itself and interior looks pretty too. I have already been twice and service was exceptional both times. First time, I was served by girls who was super lovely, knowledgable and attentive; second time (as I assume) I was served by a manager who told us a lot of interesting information about the dishes, drinks and art on the walls. It is always great to see when employees go an extra mile. The only reason it is 4 - I feel like some dished need a bit more flavour or spices but definitely you should go...
Read moreAt first we were a little bit sceptical as the atmosphere kind of resembled an empty night club, with the tiny tables and club music blaring loudly. Don't let first impressions fool you though. The small menu offers you a great variety of Georgian food with a modern twist. I've Georgian food many times, but this was the best by far. The Lamb Risotto hat the perfect consistency, with the lamb being incredibly tender and herbs perfectly complementing it. I didn't love the plums though. You should definitely try the Qvevri wine. It was a real treat and is absolutely worth the price. Service was really good and overall we really enjoyed our...
