This was amazingly good sushi buffet and really reasonable priced during lunch hours. I strongly recommend this place if you're around this area.
There's quite a lot of room and that space were needed because this place was packet during lunch hours. Interior design is quite modern looking japanese restaurant - so elegant yet modest. Customers seem to be young adults and youth in generally but there were some older people and mothers with their children. When I visited here their buffet cost 9.90 Euros from 11am to 3pm and 14.90 after those hours which aren't bad prices at all. I would call it cheap from all you can eat buffet of this sort.
Selection of various delicacies were so immense that I wasn't able to taste all of them. One of the strangest was deep fried maki rolls and other similar delicacies deep fried. This was strangely delicious and I recommend to try. I was a bit worried about their vegetarian options but I think they were just run out temporarily from the buffet. There definitely were immense selection of choices to fill you stomach.
If you're around this area and fancy japanese food I strongly recommend this food but don't expect to have a long quiet relaxing lunch because there's quite a lot of people here during those cheaper hours atleast. Even so price to quality is so amazing that I really enjoyed...
Read moreIt was a tiring noon after a long trip, as per friend's suggestions I decided to try this restaurant.
Below average sushi which tastes like some cheap sushi. But what's even worse is the staff there. Trust me on this, DO NOT SIT BESIDE THE SUSHI BAR. you will be disgusted with the way the chef's/employees handle sushi's.
The staff is poorly trained on hygiene. Both the ladies used the same disposable gloves throughout. While cleaning, having lunch and not to mention the little bites in between. The gloves survived throughout the journey. The house fly was sitting on the floor and then on the chair and then on the sushi's displayed to be served.
A decent establishment must provide a designated lunch time, so one doesn't need to stop her lunch to make a dish for a customer.
I do not blame the staff, instead it's the establishment which received over 4 stars. The staff might be following what she believes is "Okay". But this is Helsinki, one should follow the standard of city's hygiene.
I am sorry, I wanted to tell this to her face. But I felt I might humiliate her. So, this review is for the guys who run this chain. If you care about the customers, then at least be sincere to provide what...
Read morehad a very unpleasant experience at Haiku Sushi Buffet on Tuesday, January 28th, after 7:30PM. I was alone with my 2-month-old baby for quality time while we waited my husband to finish his work. Me and my baby were treated very poorly by the staff. They refused to let me change my baby in the restroom, even though I had a disposable changing mat.
They said the reason was the smell of babies' poop. I wonder if they stand by the door and ask adults as well if they plan to poop or pee to avoid any smell. However, I didn’t even have a soiled diaper, and even if I did, I always bring bags with me to contain any odor. Their behavior felt discriminatory and disrespectful.
I have traveled to Japan many times and know this behavior is not reflective of Japanese culture, which values respect and hospitality. The way I was treated here was unacceptable.
I won’t be returning to this restaurant, and I encourage others to avoid it as well. Supporting a place that treats mothers and babies so poorly sends the wrong message. Food...
