This has become my favorite place to eat in Helsinki since the first time I tried their risotto. And even if this restaurant has a few more locations around the city, this one is the cosiest and prettiest out of them, and the magically delicious food here made me fall in love forever. Such a creamy, cheesy paradise in your mouth, some freshly baked bread and great coffee is more than I needed but I can admit that now, every time I visit Helsinki, I plan a special day when I visit La Torrefazione and enjoy every single second of being there and having the best risotto I ever had in my whole life (and I am extremely picky when it comes to such things)

Went there for a quick lunch and was very pleased with everything. Super friendly staff and beautiful food. If you're not so hungry, then having a cup of coffee or a sandwhich are also great options. I ordered a beetroot-feta puree soup that was their lunch special offer and it was delicious. Even though the place is rather small, the interior feels quite spacious and cozy at the same time. Location is also very convenient.

Went here for breakfast on a Sunday and chose a croissant and overnight oats. It was super nice - they had a decent amount of options (also bigger things like omelet etc.). The croissant wasn’t that good, clearly just a bake off - I’ve had better. But it was the best latte I had in town. Nice staff, but not that cosy interior. All in all, I would visit again for a light breakfast.

Cozy, Stylish, and Seriously Good Coffee

La Torrefazione in Helsinki is one of those cafés that immediately feels right. The atmosphere is warm and modern, with big windows, clean Nordic design, and just the right amount of buzz. It’s clearly popular—but not in an annoying way.

Their coffee? Excellent. Whether you go for a basic cappuccino or a more refined brew, it’s prepared with care and tastes rich and smooth. The baristas know what they’re doing, and you can feel the quality in every sip.

They also serve some great brunch-style dishes and pastries—light, fresh, and beautifully plated. It’s the perfect place for a relaxed breakfast, a quiet coffee break, or a catch-up with a friend.

Prices are fair for the quality you get, especially by Finnish standards. The service is friendly and fast, even when it’s crowded.

Just be mindful even it is a small chain, menu items may be different from one place to another. This particular has nice breakfast sets which includes very good omelet with chorizo.
