We had a reservation through our hotel and showed up, there was only one couple inside but they said no room for you and we had to sit outside. Inside must be reserved for locals only. Weather was bearable so we sat down. Chairs were wobbly steel and uncomfortable and table on the cobble stones moved when you touched it. Waitress just stood over us waiting for our order and when we tried to ask any basic questions she pretended not to understand any English. I found that hard to believe as she was younger. At a minimum she should have gotten someone to help. We are Canadian and can figure francais out but a little help would have been nice. We said we needed a few minutes which surprisingly she now understood. In a few minutes came back again and hovered some more. Again no help. It’s like they just threw us outside and quickly take our order and slap some food in front of us and get us out of there. We said we needed more time and then got up and left. We went to another local bistro and had a wonderful meal and were served through broken English by our server and our limited French. This place was recommended in our Rick Steves guide book, he should send someone there and see how they are treated. In all of our travels in France this is the only horrible experience dining we have had. I am changing my rating as in fairness we did not eat. It would have been nice to have someone attempt to explain the menu and we would have stayed and probably enjoyed a very...
Read moreI'm going to be harsh in this review because I think that this restaurant can do better. We got the vegetarian platter after reading a lot of positive reviews about it. For $25, I expected the salad on it to be made from fresh produce. Most of the lettuce on our plate was wilted and browned on the edges, and the vegetables in the salad also seemed old. I feel like I could put together a similar salad from the grocery store. I don't mind their prices here, but the quality of the ingredients needs to match the price tag. We didn't order anything else, but I wouldn't recommend this particular dish and I would keep in mind that the other dishes may also be made of low quality ingredients. A pity because it is a...
Read moreMy family and I loved our visit here, and the wonderful atmosphere. The boys had chicken and steak with chips, and we had guinea fowl and rabbit. The menu was regional, accessible, freshly made and delicious.
The prices were reasonable and the "pichets" of wine great value.
Set in a quiet square close to a church, the atmosphere was lovely, and the owner was a lovely, friendly woman, who we got chatting to.
We were fine with the French language menu, but not being an English language nation, be prepared to bring along google translate in case the servers don't know the English for the regional food.
Easily the best meal I ate in France for our entire stay and would...
