Satsuki — Restaurant in Bonneville

The service time noted on google is mistaken. They start operations at six thirty. I arrived at five thirty as per google, and they told me to come back later. I came back later and they told me they were fully booked.

Oh yes. They also require booking before hand despite the empty tables. But they won’t tell you that. I’ve been in Chamonix for three days and no other place asked for booking. I’ve combed through the reviews and I can’t find a mention of booking. I visited their website and there was no mention of booking. There were plenty of empty seats. So what’s up with this selective demand for booking? The surprising thing is they only told me about the booking at my last visit when I was chased out. Not on my first.

I visited Satsuki around 7 PM and encountered a disappointing dining experience. Upon arrival, we were informed by a staff member that the only available seating was downstairs, even though we noticed several empty tables upstairs.

When seated downstairs, I observed that most of the diners in this section appeared to share similar ethnic backgrounds, which raised concerns about how seating arrangements were being managed. This observation left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome.

As a customer, I expect fair and respectful treatment at any establishment. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet those expectations, which was disappointing.

Seems to be very popular, they squeezed us in between takeaway orders and reservations. I took one photo of their sashimi (was so hungry forgot to take Another photo of main dish) which was dish 1 of the 2-dish menu option for approx 30euro pp. I also ordered teriyaki beef and another beef dish. This menu option also came with rice. Each dish was delicious. The sashimi was so fresh and melty yummy, the way it should be. Such good Japanese. Their other food looked great (sushi and other hot dishes) too, but we’re on a budget so this 2dish option for 30euro-ish was better value than individually ordering entree and main. Could have had a bigger rice serving as was satisfied but not 100% full. But got ice cream afterwards which satisfied....
