This place was absolutely terrible and our waiter was absolutely to blame. Probably the worse server we’ve ever had. He took forever to get to us every time, served the people behind us 20 minutes before us as if he had just decided he didnt like us. He brought them bread right away and we waiting probably a total of 40 minutes before he brought us bread. My dad ordered bourbon with ice, he brought a glass of bourbon without ice and when my dad asked about the ice, he just pointed to a cannister on the table, rather than serving properly. We sat right next to the window to the outdoor raw seafood bar and saw our shrimp order waiting for 20 minutes before he eventually picked it up and brought it to us (thats not very safe for seafood). It took over an hour and a half for us to get food despite all the people around us getting their food significantly quicker. When my friend asked for a second glass of wine, he left and came back, took her glass, brought it to the bar and without cleaning it or exchanging it for a new glass brought the same dirty glass with new wine back to her which is pretty terrible. When we asked for a dessert menu, he left for 5 minutes and as he was helping the table next to us realized he hadnt brough it and then finally went back to get them. When we finally finished our meal after over 2 hours (much longer than anybody around us even though they got there after us) he brought the check and even with my dad trying to hand him a card promptly, he left for 10 more minutes before coming back to charge us. Obviously we left no tip. As for the food, it was very ordinary, and the desserts were beautiful, but didnt taste as good as they looked. The seating has everybody crammed together so you can barely get up without hitting your neighbor. Overall I would not...

Unfortunately we found this place to be the exact definition of a tourist trap. We arrived there with very high hopes and we left completely disappointed. We ordered three appetisers to share because we were excited about the place, that by the way in high season is difficult to get a reservation. So we got onion soup, king crab and oysters. For starters the onion soup had barely any onion in it or cheese so it was basically broth, some bread and some cheese on top and most likely warmed in the microwave oven because it was totally unevenly warmed up, then we got the king crab and we got 1 (yes one) king crab leg for 49€ and the worst part that the meat was very dry and it felt old and finally we got the oysters that well, is hard to mess up with those unless they’re already bad at the time of serving. We ordered some fries to see if at least that was good and yet another disappointing dish, fries from a frozen bag served in an upscale restaurant? I find it unacceptable. At the end I told the waitress about it but they didn’t seem to care much because, well of course people will keep coming anyways. Finally they told us about moving to a different table in the middle of the dining and as we were getting ready to move they said it was no longer necessary. Not to mention that we didn’t want to keep eating in that place so we skipped the main course and dessert and left, we wanted to try the beef tartare, the duck and some desserts but preferred not to. So overall overpriced and bad food, also not a great service. The best we had at the end was oysters and a bottle of Prosecco, so you can imagine. You want to eat much better and much more relaxed? Go to La crémerie du moulin...

The worst service I have ever experienced. Waiter just stood in front of my chair denying me the chance to sit down, when taking orders would take the food but then ignore that I asked for a drink. I had to ask him 3 times did you get my drink order as I could see his notepad to which he would roll his eyes and finally do it but with no acknowledgement.

Throughout the meal they were rude and dismissive to our whole group. When it came to ask for the bill it had to be requested multiple times to get it. Then it felt like we were asking for the world when we needed the card machine. After asking the bar staff for the card machine and then ignoring us I physically went up and asked for it to which I got a very abrupt response of “It will be with you in 2 minutes can you not see that we have customers!”. Well yes but just communicate that not ignore us.

When the waiter finally did come to collect the payment he looked at the tray and threw his hands up wondering where the cash is as if we were wasting his time. We had to again request for the card machine.

Then just to add more annoyance the service charge is baked into each menu item. It is not a separate charge on the bill so there is no way at all to request not to pay service charge.

This is all a shame because the food is good and the selection is nice that even though it can be very expensive they have affordable dishes too.

Back of house staff amazing. Front of house need to sort out their act or replace them all as I would never recommend or go there again...

Large portions, reasonably priced, great service, and awesome food. The server answered all our questions. Get the tap water, it's free and tastes great. They also supply free bread! We got the escargot, foie gras, the Savoyard potee, lamb shank, veal liver, and chicken casserole. At the end we split the ice cream for dessert. Escargot was super buttery and the garlic/herbs were very fresh tasting. The foie gras came with a gingerbread and fig puree, which all balanced each other out very well. Savoyard Potee was a huge portion of meat. One ham hock, a sausage, and two very thicc boi slices of pork belly. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it. The veal liver was extremely tender. The french really know how to cook their liver! It was very good, none of that usual icky liver taste/texture. The lamb shank was melt in your mouth soft and very meaty. The roasted veggies were perfectly cooked as well. The chicken casserole was unlike any casserole I've seen before. It was served with rice and resembered more of a stir fry thank anything else. The ice cream was layered with a chestnut puree, merengue, ICE CREAM, whipped cream, and caramelized chestnuts. Not overly sweet. I wish there was more ice cream vs stuff. Overall everything was amazing. 10/10 would recommend.

We arrived past normal lunch hour in Chamonix. Luckily Josephine still serve lunch and we managed to get a table for 2 indoor. To our surprise they have an extensive selection of seafood dishes, even an oyster bar outside of the restaurant. I guess when it is -2C outside you don’t need ice to cool down the oysters :) We had Fine de Clare oysters for starter. I like the small ones and they were fresh. The other starter we had was the fish soup which was full of umami with a little spice and warmed us up from the cold. For the main I had pan fried seared scallops with crunchy root vegetables and my partner had a local specialty which has thinly sliced cured ham, baked cheese and fresh salad. My scallop was cooked to perfection but somehow they were sitting in a sea of garlic butter oil which was too oily for me. My partner enjoyed the butter garlic oil though, with the baguette bread. We were very full after the main but there was a very interesting looking dessert that we had to try. A mushroom shaped pastry. It was light and delicious with berry center, chocolate base and thin layer of white chocolate which cover the cream.

The food here was fantastic. We only stopped in to try their creme brulee (as it is one of my favorite desserts) and my wife got the sardine toast since we both already ate somewhere else and weren't super hungry. Both were great and I must say I really enjoyed my dessert. However, the older gentleman with glasses at the entrance who I presume is the host was extremely rude to my wife. While we explored the menu at the entrance, the older gentleman (host) came up to my wife and very loudly said "what do you want!?", we didn't know how to respond. We politely replied that we would like a table and were seated. While we sat outside and waited for our food, we noticed the same older gentleman picking his nose multiple times and handling the napkins and menus as he seated clients. Absolutely disgusting.. the rest of the staff (waiters) were very polite & professional. All that being said, the host needs to learn some manners and proper hygiene if he wants to properly represent the business.
