Stoped by this place for quick meal after a long day of walking around Cannes. The main food items didn’t look appealing and most of the other people there seemed to only be drinking so we opted for some basic bar snacks. They were ok nothing special but we were hungry so they did the job. The real issue I had here was with the service. The waiter (a young man, blonde, blue eyes) had to be called by us every time we needed something and never just checked in. Not a big deal since they were busy but when it came time to pay he very quietly said something like “thank you and have a nice day” I was rummaging through my purse, looking for change to tip so I didn’t immediately say thank you. He moved on to the table next to us (literally right next to us, not even an inch between our tables) and (in French) most likely said the same thing to that guest who most likely responded with a thank you. Then he mumbles under his breath “see in France we say hello and goodbye” as he walks away. I was shocked and upset but continued to get ready to leave. Then he again approached the table next to us and I confronted him about the comment. His excuse was that he was just trying to teach me an etiquette lesson. This is bs because if that was the case, he would have told me to my face and not under his breath as he walked away. I told him that what he did was rude but he double down and walked away. No apology! I have worked as a waitress before and I have experienced many rude customers but I have never decided to teach a paying customer an etiquette or manners lesson. So if you want to pay for a meal and a French etiquette lesson by a rude waiter, this...
