Caffé Roma — Restaurant in Grasse

Me and my wife arrived here to meet my parents in law coming off a cruise ship.

We have spent close to €250 on just drinks alone but the waiter florin was really rude.

We ordered multiple drinks and after each round they kept coming out with the card machine asking for payment asap. They didn’t do this with any french patrons.

My father in law ordered multiple large beers 1664, the last drink we ordered the beer was about 2 inch below the top of the glass and had loads of foam. We asked the waiter if we can have a full beer and the waiter placed 3 fingers at the side of the glass and said “In France we serve beer like this”.

We said no you don’t because the others we ordered were full. We pointed out that the beer was below the 50cl line and then he took it back and joked and laughed with all the other waiters. He was really rude after this so we asked for the final bill to leave.

Florin then added extra drinks onto our bill that weren’t ordered and was asking for my card asap. I quickly checked the bill and noticed the extra drinks and he went back and removed them.

They’re scam artists trying to screw tourists over.

DO NOT GO HERE! The service was disgraceful and made us feel insignificant and completely abandoned unless we were willing to bribe the staff for a table. I would have had a better experience at McDonalds and probably better food. Would NOT recommend!! Extremely poor and corrupt service and not worth the wait!! Me and my friends waited patiently for a table of 4 people for 40 minutes. In this time there were 15 tables free (we counted). And there were 3x groups of 2 and 4 in front of us. Whilst we waited for 40 minutes, people that were not in the line or queued up for a table came to the front of the line and spoke to the one person supposed to be managing tables and passed them money and then tables were made available to them. So they pushed in front of us and we waited patiently without the staff even acknowledging us. When we finally made it to the front of the queue and were seated they told us that they were no longer serving food. What an absolute waste of time. I wish I could give 0 stars or minus stars. Management need to take a good hard look at themselves and work out how they actually make money when no one gets seated. Corruption...

I came for dinner with my mother and daughter this evening. Whilst the food was nice, on receiving our bill we were actually over charged for our drinks compared to the menu pricing and even after requesting to speak to the manager via our waiter (who was not the issue and was very pleasant and also confused himself at the wrong pricing !) the manager refused to speak to us and also refused to honour the price advertised on the restaurant menu. This is not only rude and unprofessional, but also illegal to over charge us the advertised price and to then refuse to refund this. We won’t be going there again and I would suggest you avoid this restaurant if that’s their attitude. I’m happy to pay for good customer service, good food and realise that Cannes can be expensive, however blatantly over charging on principal is just wrong. I would suggest the restaurant review and correct their menu pricing and policies, and more importantly change their manager. Worst experience of our trip here...
