Notting Hill Coffee — Restaurant in Lille

I stopped by Notting Hill Coffee this morning and it was such a lovely start to the day. With a perfect view of the Opéra de Lille right from the window seat, it’s hard to imagine a more charming breakfast setting.

The cappuccino was smooth, creamy, and just the right strength, served in a cozy mug that paired perfectly with the soft morning light coming through the windows. The croissant was buttery and crisp, while the carrot cake was moist, spiced just right, and topped with rich cream cheese frosting.

The service was quick and friendly, and the vibe inside was relaxed with a steady flow of people but never too crowded. Whether you’re grabbing a quick pastry or settling in with a view and a hot drink, this spot really delivers on both quality and atmosphere.

I'm really surprised by some of the negative reviews here, as my experience was the complete opposite.

I entered the shop and was given a really warm welcome. I can't speak French (I wish I could!) but the staff member was fine with that and was more than happy to speak English (and he spoke PERFECT English too!).

I took a seat upstairs and enjoyed the atmosphere and the pleasant views of the city from there. The food and drink were really nice too 😋.

Overall, a great experience and I will definitely return when I come...

Wifi - yes 20mbps down, 1mbps up, disconnected 3-4 times for me over a few hours

Bathrooms - yes, reasonable, not the cleanest but not the worst

Power outlets - yes, most spots

Laptops - have signs saying no laptops after 12pm/weekends/holidays, likely for patron turnover ($$) but multiple guests including us sat upstairs with laptops and we were not bothered by staff.

Paid €7.80 for a small coffee, orange juice and a muffin. All were good.
