Fancied a bowl of pasta for a change, after many delicious French meals in Cassis. Overall the ingredients were pretty cheap quality and not what we'd come to enjoy so far on our holiday in France. We were served unecessarily large portions - each dish was at least twice as big as it should have been. A strange complaint, maybe, but it's very off-putting to have so much food put in front of you. Luckily, we only ordered one starter to share, which was large enough for three, and all of us could only eat half our main courses.. if that. The starter of burrata and tomato was fine. Main course tuna linguine was pretty bland but edible - a lot of linguine and not much tuna so hard to get wrong. The ravioli was stuffed with three different kinds of meat (of very poor quality) and was drowning in insane amounts of Bolognese ragù – not how it should be served. Service was very ramshackle – water not brought out, food served without cutlery, items asked for a few times… Not a great experience. The bill was not proportionate to the quality of the food. Very very disappointing, there are much better...

The food at Francesca was simply outstanding – fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and every dish prepared with real care. But what truly made the night unforgettable was the service.
It wasn’t about speed or polished routine – it was about genuine attentiveness. The staff saw us, listened, and made us feel truly welcome. Not just friendly in the “how’s everything?” kind of way – but present, kind, and warm. That rare kind of hospitality you can’t fake.
Sturdy tables that don’t wobble – a small detail, but it matters when you’re sitting in the beautiful alleyways of Cassis, soaking in the evening air. There’s something special about this place. From the formerly mentioned set tables to the relaxed, joyful atmosphere, everything invites you to slow down and enjoy.
We left not just full, but moved – by good food, meaningful moments, and people who love what they do.
Thank you for a night we’ll remember....
Read moreWell if you’re ever in Cassis, you absolutely have to dine at Francesca, on 6 Adolphe Thiers, 13260 Cassis. Fabulous little Italian Ristorante, alfresco! The Caprese Salad is unbelievable! The Burrata cheese was the size of a softball, with slices of red & yellow tomatoes, with some of the best aged balsamic dressing I’ve had in years. My partner had the slightly seared Tuna Linguine, my choice, was of course the whole Dorade Fish! Impeccable! Local white wine, and the best Tiramisu in years! But, the best part was Francesca herself, vivacious, explaining the menu, while making you even more relaxed, and ready for an enjoyable meal. 3 hour meal, nothing like savoring delicious, well prepared food. I could rave on, but go try for yourself, you will not be disappointed. Added a picture of Helen & Francesca, she’s the one in the Vespa shirt!...
