I cant believe I am even writing this bad review. 3 of our group ordered the Onion Soup which turned out to be watered down, simply without taste. Not even close of how this soup should taste. We had them returned and where surprised to have the soups reserved with the exact aweful taste but now tasting burnt on top of it. We hardly ate it and had it returned again. The rest of the food was OK but nothing to brag about.

When paying I was surprised to find the Soup costing EUR 17 per order on the bill. After complaining twice about the quality we naturally expected to not pay for it as it was terrible.

We expressed our dissatisfaction with the waitress who immediately refused to deal with the situation and had the head waitress or restaurant manager come and speak with us. What would have been an easy 'take off the bill' situation and rescue our perception of the service, the situation escalated and turned into a 10-15min discussion amongst all other guests explaining customer service, quality of food expectation, playing simply dumb by the manager, not listening to the client, to the point that she walked away with no result and no explanation how to resolve the situation. She was not even open for a compromise. At the end I paid EU 54 for 3 miserable soups. The manager thought she won the argument and cashing in.

Now here I am writing a miserable review for all to see. Was it worth it? Absolutely horrific and incredibly bad customer service with no understanding of basic hospitality services by a restaurant manager. It highlighted again that good staff is hard find and that people think anybody can work in hospitality. What a wrong perception.

Some people should never be offered a job in this industry. I feel sorry for the restaurant to employ such a manager that could have rescued the situation by a simple gesture. Still loss of words. Terrible....

A good example of bad bad customer service... Avoid!!!

We wanted to treat ourselves with a nice Lunch. L'Elysee Saint Honore looked like a great place with good prices, it was also busy which is a good sign. The waitress suggested all the daily specials and insisted that Dover Sole was her favorite therefore we picked it as our choice. When we asked for the bill, we were astound to see that the Dover sole was charged at 52 euros... when all the other daily specials were at 19 euros and 32 for the most expensive one. When we asked the waitress if it was a mistake, she replied embarrassed by saying sorry for not mentioning the price when suggesting it and that she was sadly not in any position to do anything about it now. few second later the owner of the restaurant comes to us using a very patronising tone saying that this is the price that one should pay for a fresh fish like a Dover Sole. By that point were clearly baffled by her reaction and her tone. We replied that we have not being told the excessive price prior ordering nor we had a menu in hand and it was a clear mistake from the restaurant staff. She went on venting at us very loudly and disrespectfully saying that she never had a problem like this before at her restaurant and if we eat fresh fish as Dover Sole we should expect to pay 52 euros a piece. Its surprising to experience this kind of customer service at place like L'Elysee Saint Honore however after reading other comments on here and google I am sadly not alone. The customers are the number one for a business like this - it takes very little to change this around for L'Elysee Saint Honore - Train your management and your staff...

I learnt something today - in Paris, if the restaurant has ratings less than 4.2, it’s a NO-GO - This restaurant is one of them ✋🙅‍♀️🙅‍♂️! Risked it because of sudden hunger from pregnant fiancée 🤰🏻 The food is obnoxious and poorly cooked 😵! Bring this up with the young owner and he would try to redeem the situation with pastries. If I wanted pastries, I would have not come for lunch🙄🙄! Furthermore, he has the audacity to charge you for serving up poor quality food! Wine is good though! I tried the roast chicken in its own-juices served with mash! The chicken was cooked to the point of being mummified 🫡! It was tough, and chewy! 😑 The owner tried to right it, but, Unfortunately, bro needs to take some cooking lessons 👨‍🍳: you can’t get moisture into a chicken once it’s lost, unless you inject it with butter or water! If you could cook it further, why did you not do it earlier! The mash tasted bland - too much cream to the point it had a dairy taste!

You, the customer, are better off saving your money and avoiding dealing with the young owner - the older gentleman was more caring and smarter!

The restaurant staff (except the young, suited-up owner) are friendly - would have given a 5 for service, but downgraded to 1 because of the young lad! The older gentleman was friendly and cared about his customers.

TO THE YOUNG OWNER (video footage NOT from restaurant): This is how chicken should be roasted! This is a roast chicken from a supermarket - separates easily from the bone and juicy!

A polite request to the young owner: Get a food expert to come and try your offerings. Improve your food quality - The google ratings speak...

This place is a disaster what a shame to Paris restaurants… food quality was disgusting and the manager with the long hair was so rude and talked to me like I was a criminal. He brought the most disgusting tuna tar tar I have ever eaten. I have been traveling Paris for years. I usually don’t write reviews but I was so embarrassed infront of my girlfriend this man aggressively talked to me after I mentioned is this tuna?? I asked him why it’s so poorly prepared and wanted to just enjoy a nice peaceful dinner then he brought back the menu which was a chalkboard with poor handwriting which I could barley read and said sir this is what you ordered…I told him I couldn’t read the chalkboard and that maybe you should rewrite it so customers who can’t speak French will know the ingredients so they won’t get disgusted with this dish and its ingredients. I also had the coldest and tasteless French fries I have ever tried in Paris.. my girlfriend looked at me and we both wished we were rather at McDonald’s …. I have been traveling to Paris for 30 years and never felt so insulted by a restaurant in my life. I would give this restaurant a 0 star if I can I didn’t even touch the dish and I still paid the 30$ euros and then ordered a 60$ fish which was flavorless and tasted like trash… The manager was so fortunate that my girlfriend was with me because I don’t tolerate aggressive people especially in a hospitality setting. Very rude and disgusting restaurant shame on this place I hope they calm down with customers and don’t snap at people who don’t speak the best French…

Glass in the food!! Serious Food Safety Issue and Terrible Crisis Management On July 16th, we went to this restaurant for dinner. At first, everything seemed fine: the atmosphere was pleasant, the staff friendly, and the food tasty. But suddenly, while eating the Parmentier de Boeuf, we found small shards of glass in the dish — and one of us even broke a tooth! We immediately informed the staff. The maître de salle responded with arrogance and complete indifference to the seriousness of the situation, and offered only an extra dessert as compensation — a ridiculous and insulting response to a food safety emergency. We asked for the complaints book and were refused. We asked to speak with the owner, who was clearly present in the restaurant, but he lied and claimed he wasn’t there. We requested the name of someone responsible for following up on the situation and the medical expenses, and the response was: “My name is John.” When asked for his surname, he replied, “I’m not obliged to give you my name.” A serious incident can happen, but what truly matters is how a restaurant handles such a situation. In this case, there was a complete failure to take responsibility, no transparency, and a shocking lack of concern for the well-being of their clients. An absolutely disastrous experience, both for the physical danger and the unacceptable customer service that followed. We will never return and strongly advise others to avoid this place.
