My wife and I have visited Japan many times and are addicted to food quality one may find there. There is simply no better place in the world when it comes to quality of ingredients, quality of cooking, quality of subtle improvements that come with everything foreign adapted to Japanese market, and finally quality of delivering a dining experience that is VERY hard to match outside of Japan.

Aki IS that JAPAN we know and cherish. In Europe. Right in the centre of Paris.

Our last visit to Paris made us absolutely dependent on this, and other AKi shops, because we really, really missed "it". It's hard to describe "it" other than "Japanese way of serving food in a way that makes you an addict".

For example, the western world got crazy about katsu sando. Many wannabe shops serve it and yet, most of the time, it's absolutely disgusting. Then I go to Aki. Katsu sando tastes like I have just bought it at a Tokyo train station. The warm bread embraces a bit of pork, wrapped in a green lettuce soaked in a really tasty dressing, and it's not even hirekatsu but it tastes wonderful. It's... real, it's... I-want-to-eat-stuff-like-this-till-the-end-of-my-days.

Well...

This was my third time at Aki Café and this time I decided to bring friends. And I must say they weren’t happy. Basically, we decided to buy a drink from somewhere else before going to Aki Café because I don’t think they do good drinks, but they do amazing food. So we went to another place to get a matcha, and when we arrived to Aki to get something to eat, they didn’t allow us to be there with a drink made somewhere else. This is so absurd and I’ve never experience this in my entire life. Well, I came to your place because I like your food, and I got the drink somewhere else because I don’t think you’re good with that. Simple like that ??? Or maybe because I was just craving something from another place but I still wanted to have something from Aki. Honestly, you should definitely review your policy. Or maybe just do better drinks ???? Either way, it was a very absurd situation and I was very upset since I used to say how wonderful this place is and I wanted to cause a good impression on my friends....

This cafe sucks!! We always go there for lunch and never had problem. Today, our dog was injured and needed a rest. We grabbed some breads at this cafe and would like to eat the breads and rest for a few minutes before heading back home. Unfortunately, the lady from the cafe said we were not allowed to eat the take away items due to the price differences. The thing is the breads should not have any price difference and we brought around 40 euro food from this cafe!!! We were so upset and I don’t think we will go back to this cafe again ever!! Keep in mind the Japanese lady with blonde hair who worked at this cafe wasn’t...

Absolutely shocking – is this really how they sell food? With that kind of display and performance, I don’t even want to imagine what the kitchen looks like. Kimbap? That’s supposed to be onigiri? All I can say is that they’ve completely failed at the basics of food presentation. And the people buying it? They must know nothing about Japanese or Korean food – just clueless passersby. It might sound harsh to the sellers, but honestly, it looked like food waste. I thought they were selling expired items. I’ll never go back, and I certainly won’t be eating anything from there again.
