I love this place. Very small, cozy. Slightly shabby in a comfortable way. This is the place to have duck confit: perfectly crisp on the outside, meltingly tender on the inside. Not expensive. Nice carafe of wine. In Montmartre, but not the center area that’s packed with tourists. The owner chef and assistant could not be friendlier! I arrived at 11:30 for a noon reservation and sat outside on a chair to wait for the place to open. It was very cold and rainy, and they invited me inside and offered me a hot drink while waiting! Incredibly charming.
And the food is sublime. Good Rhône wine at a reasonable cost. Simply PERFECT for a cold November day, and I look forward to going back soon.
It’s easy to make a reservation by telephone, even if you barely speak French. The kind owner speaks some English, and will help you with communicating, in my experience. HIGHLY...
Read moreGreat little restaurant with very friendly service! They have an English menu available on request and the owner/proprietor is comfortable speaking English. We had the steak with blue cheese and the pork medallions with orange sauce - both were excellent tasting and at a decent price for the area. The sidewalk is a bit sloped which makes outside dining slightly slanted - we didn't mind it and really enjoyed watching the people walk by - but the inside offers a really warm and inviting atmosphere if you prefer. As with many restaurants in Paris, the washroom is downstairs and in this case the stairs are spiral and very tight. As with the sidewalk slope, we found it quirky and fun, but if you have mobility challenges this could pose a problem. Overall a really great dining experience at an authentic casual bistro where the focus is on great food and...
Read moreFound this hidden gem on Google map as I wanted to avoid the tourist traps near sacred coeur. This place is really where locals go! We arrived at 12:50 skeptical as there were only one other couple but by 1pm it was full house and people were turned away. Highly recommend reserving on google map. We tried the onion soup, rich with flavors and cheese, the bone marrow was heavenly and a cheese salad which was surprisingly good. Main we had the tartare, duck breast and beouf bourguignon. All were fantastic and generous in portions. Desserts were even bigger! We got two to share amongst 3 people but just one would have been just right. The tarte tatin abd creme brulee lived up to high expectations. All in all a lovely local meal at a cozy bistro. Don't miss it if you're here in...
