Paris | Hidden Bars to Help You Woo Your Crush

A wonderful place to go on a date. cozy, great cocktails and friendly staff. it’s kind of a speakeasy so it can be a bit daunting to actually find it. Once u get off the metro & walk past the marcel restaurant and the immobilier place right next to it, you would find a gated area. pass through the gate (may have to use the intercomm) and follow the cobbled street until you come across a courtyard on the left with a slim black door/gate. The entrance to the hotel is the white door that u see across from the gate. knock if the door’s closed and the staff would guide you. We arrived around 8:15 ish on a friday night and it was not very crowded . However, the place filled up soon after. the service isn’t really upto the mark. we had to wait really long to order for drinks/food and to receive the same. perhaps it was an one off night.. that being said, the cocktails very really good & creatives, decently priced (around 12-16 eur) and the planche was incredible.. totally worth giving a try.

The kind of place you almost don’t want to share, just to keep it secret a little longer. Housed inside a 19th-century mansion, with a retro 70s-inspired décor, and surrounded by a lush garden, it feels like stepping into a movie set. The atmosphere is both relaxed and refined. The staff are warm yet discreet, adding to the feeling of effortless elegance. Cocktails are excellent. Even the toilets are worth mentioning, with their particular style. Getting there feels like an adventure in itself: you ring an intercom, walk through a hidden path, and suddenly find yourself in this whimsical hideaway. And the highlight? The serene chickens roosting high in the garden’s trees, completely unbothered. Le Particulier isn’t just a bar — it’s an escape. One part secret garden, one part retro salon, and entirely unforgettable.

My friends and I went to the cocktail bar of this hotel for some drinks about two weeks ago. It wasn’t my first time there, in fact, I had been going there for several years. Since I had always had a good experience, I decided to let my friends try it as well. Unfortunately, this time the experience was completely different. We were told at the entrance that the semi-basement floor where the bar is located was occupied by a private party, and if we wanted to wait outside in the garden, they would find us a spot upstairs in a few minutes. Unfortunately, things turned out differently. After almost an hour of waiting outside in the cold (it was early January), we tried to prompt the various waiters who occasionally came out of the building... without any response. When we needed to go to the bathroom, we had to repeatedly knock on the door of the venue, as it was locked from the outside, and as if that wasn’t enough, we had to ask for permission to use the bathroom... which, in my opinion, was very unprofessional and unpleasant. After another 30 minutes, they finally moved us inside, to a room at the back, where the waiters made sure not to serve us or ask if we wanted anything else to drink. Lastly, the gin and tonic I ordered was made with the wrong gin (this is the least of the issues). Terrible service and unacceptable treatment in my opinion, especially considering the clientele the place targets. I fully understand giving priority to those who had booked an entire floor for a private party, but this does not give the property the right to treat other customers as if they were second-class. It’s a shame because I had always wanted to stay at the hotel, but after this last experience, I don’t think I’ll...

Possibly the most elaborate cocktail bar I've ever been to!

You would honestly never find Le Très Particulier if you didn't know it was there. I knew it was difficult to find, and knew where it was on a map, but it still took us 10 minutes to find once we were within 100m it.

After looking up the address on the website and venturing down a narrow path, all the while saying to ourselves "This can't be right...", we spotted a gate that was slightly ajar. Pushing through, we emerged into a lush garden filled to the brim with people chatting and sipping delicious-looking cocktails.

After being greeted and shown to a table by a gentleman in a suit, tails and all, we ordered a couple of drinks.

On the night that we visited, the place was packed and unfortunately it seemed like the staff were struggling to keep up. It did take a while to be served and brought our drinks, however that didn't really detract from the overall experience as it was just such a lovely place to be.

If you're ever looking for somewhere fabulous to have a drink on Montmartre, then pull out your map and your compass and see if you can find Le Très...
