We visited this restaurant about 2 weeks ago, Saturday evening. We had no reservation just happened to be outside when 2 people were leaving. They had, as many french restaurants, on the menu board: "Entree+Plat+dessert"= 29€ "Entree+Plat"=24€ "Plat+dessert"=24€ My friend ordered one appetizer (onion soup) and I ordered from the plates of the day, the carrot soup and the beef bourguignon. The lady, who took the order seemed surprised when I only told her one main dish and was a bit "rude" at the moment, but we did not pay much attention. During the course of our dinner, the older guy that works there (husband of the lady he told us) heard us speaking our language (Greek) and as he was also Greek apparently, he started chatting with us. He came to our table few times and we were just talking. My friend also asked him his suggestions for the food, since she was thinking to order main dish also, but she is a bit peculiar with her taste. She decided not to order anything. She tried the beef bourguignon and the pasta accompanying it, from but she did not like it. At the end I wanted the dessert of the day also (creme brulee) which was finished, so I ordered a lemon tart. My friend tried also the lemon tart, but she generally does not like this kind of dessert, as well as this one also.
We asked the bill and we saw that they charged us each plate separately instead of the menu of 29€ and of course the separate appetizer of my friend and two glasses of wine. We told that to the guy but he pretended he had no idea. He came again to tell us that the receipt cannot be cancelled although I explained him they charged us 10€ and not the menu they advertised. He left and never appeared again anywhere in the store (until we left). His wife came, with a rude attitude, speaking to us in greek and a bit of french/english to say that she cannot cancel it, that we ordered the menu to share it and that she saw us and was watching us. I was shocked and literally asked her if she was counting also out bites. I told her that my friend does not eat multiple stuff so she was trying the plates to see if she likes anything, but that she did not like anything so she did not order more. All the dishes we ordered were not even finished She left and another waitress came with a receipt that they had removed 4€ approximately. I did not want to make more of an issue so we payed this amount.
It was unacceptable behavior, and completely unprofessional. If you think something like that happened you can politely say for example "the menu is for 1 person, we thought you ordered it to share" and to discuss it (although we did not order it to share).
As for the food, we were embarrassed to say it to the guy when he asked, but it was mediocre, from appetizer to dessert, nothing tasty. All the plates we ordered were returned not finished anyway, so it was a hint. I would never go again for the food anyway, but most of all for the behavior we received for no reason. Unfortunately, there is no option for less...
Read moreLeft the restaurant before finishing, my worst experience in a restaurant in Paris 🤬🤬🤬!!!! Burrata lacked seasoning so I asked for some vinegar, waiter seemed surprised, he then asked the lady at the bar who openly criticised my request in front of me, but I did get it in the end and it made a nice difference.
Then I asked for another napkin, because I didn’t want to put my fork and knife on the table itself, the waiter quite aggressively just said “why don’t you use that one”, so I explained why, he expressed his bewilderment and he then went to ask the lady at the bar who yet again criticised my decision in front of my face. He then brought 2 napkins of lower quality (she told him to) gave me one and threw the one for my girlfriend on the table.
Then the duck arrived. Not sure if I was punished, but it really was a small piece and unfortunately super salty (must have come from a tinned can). So to try to lower the saltiness, I asked for mustard, and the waiter without thinking or checking just said again in an aggressive way “we don’t have any”.
By that point I was absolutely fuming. My gf went to the bar lady very politely to ask for some mustard and the lady said why do you need it? Then reluctantly she opened the fridge took out a plastic bottle of mustard and gave it to us.
This was just too much. I thought I was going to break something, so I stood up and said we are leaving, complained to a guy who seemed like he was the manager and we still got charged 43 euros when we didn’t even finish our dish !!!!
I have never given a 1 star before, and always try to solve the problem internally, but when I messaged them they just ignored me. So to make sure no one lives such a disappointing experience I’m posting about my horrendous experience. Really unfortunate because the atmosphere looked really good and cosy, my gf’s 7h lamb dish was good, but the front of the house was just shockingly appalling.
I sincerely hope that the supposedly owners Alexia M & Marianne Q Will read this...
Read moreA cute, small little place in the heart of Paris. We were lucky enough to find a free table without a prior reservation. We had limited time but worked for us as we were hungry and didn’t want to hang around. Everyone was being nice and friendly and doing their best to communicate mixing French and English. Food took a little long to be served. Or it wasn’t actually, we were just really hungry and in a sort of a hurry. Doesn’t matter now, glad we stayed. Menu is short and simple and it makes sense. And the price ar fixed for entrees, mains and desserts. The food: I love French onion soup and this was my first chance to have it in France. Realised i was lying to myself this whole time. Everything i’ve had before was a cheap imitation. This was the real deal. Simply delish. Then the main courses: fish and chips. Leave it to the French to take the most basic English food that you never can go wrong with and make it better. Salmon??? Yes! Crunchy exterior over some of the best salmon steak i’ve ever had paired with homemade fries that were sprinkled with stardust. The duck breast with potato piure and baked pear was even better. The medium-done duck wasn’t good. It wasn’t excellent. It just made me happy. And a bunch of mashed potatoes french kissed a piece of butter is pretty much the only way to describe the side. Absolutely top, everything. And here comes more good news: one starter, 3 mains and drinks for 3 people came to under €30 each. In what looked like the busiest restaurant area in Paris....
