“Le Petit-Pont” was by far the worst food I have had in Paris. I was truly disappointed with not only the food, but the ambience and the service. The menu was as big as Oxford’s dictionary, and the waitress only gave us 2 minutes to decide. Then when asked what non-alcoholic drinks were available, she seemed annoyed and my father and I were pretty much forced into an option due to her horrid nature in patience. It was clear to me that they were trying to cover up the fact their food sucked with a festive display. Their drinks had this flaming torch, a marshmallow? and a slice of pineapple. The drinks weren’t all that great, but definitely better then the food. Now, after finally reading to what seemed like an eternity all of the options individually, we settled for 3 dishes. My father decided to have frog legs as an appetizer, a lamb shank, and I chose a burger. Once the food arrived, the waitress brought my burger and the appetizer. Mind you, this was extremely unorganized. Seriously, who brings only one of the customers main dish and an appetizer? I had less then half of my burger, and my father couldn’t even finish his appetizer and claimed that it tasted like this frog was pulled from the prehistoric era. We laughed our pain off, and after 30 minutes later my fathers lamb shanks finally arrived. Forcefully eating the lamb shank due to having to pay for this sloppy mess, he took a bite and immediately felt sick to his stomach. Overall the food was old, disgusting, horrible, dreadful, foul and REVOLTING. Our stomachs hurt terribly. I’m pretty sure we got food poisoning! To top it all off, we saw on the ground roaming for himself to what we thought was ratatouille on steroids, but he was clearly an imposter. Evidently we were invading his home, since this rat looked just as confused as we were. For a rat who makes his own food in the show, even he would be disappointed with the quality of the food. Needless to say we didn’t touch the rest of the food and quite literally ran for it.

Asked if we are going to eat. We said yes. They sat us down. Waitress took our order. Then the person who sat us down brought extra food we did not order. We said we did not order that particular item. He said we all have to consume something. We had ordered 5 items so that should have been enough. Yet he insisted we order more. We ordered nearly 50 euros of food and drinks. Yet he was rude and said we need more. (2 adults and 3 kids.) and he said we could not share food!! Very rude. He said it's on the menu. Then he brought the menu to show. In fine print on the bottom it said all must consume. (Did not say what or how much). They did not mention this to use when we sat nor when we ordered. Not when they had brought initial food. But only said so when they brought our last 2 items. Wes left paid $50 euros for the cost of all what we ordered (the whole bill) and walked out and did not even feel like eating anything else bc of their terrible service. Last two items left untouched. Paid for all and walked out. Same happened to another couple who left earlier it seemed. What kids did eat was not worth the price of the items. Poor taste.

Please think before entering this cafe. Me and my family walked in here when it started raining and really wish we'd taken a second to check the reviews.

We said we only wanted drinks which seemed to irk the waiting staff. They seated us inside which was fine but the table was very cramped and there were many other tables available that would have been more comfortable but I did not feel welcomed by the staff and felt more like an inconvenience.

I would have left at this point but a combination of the rain and a child in tow who wanted a rest from walking I decided to stay which I now regret.

We ordered 3 drinks and specifically asked for a small soft drink (orange juice) for our child but when the bill came they charged us for the larger size (€8!!). I am not sure if we got the larger size or not but I wasn't about to argue as I didn't want to get into a dispute when we just wanted to leave and I don't think I would have got very far by doing this. It was easier to just pay, get out of there and write off the few extra euros as bad luck and be thankful we didn't order food.

When the waiter brought the bill and I said I wanted to pay by card he did not seem happy. He went away to get the card machine and when he came back I wasn't looking and he approached me from behind and just snatched my bank card from my hand in a very dismissive and disgruntled manner. He then tried to use it to do a contactless payment without showing me how much he had put into the machine. He also slapped the card to the machine very quickly twice which obviously won't work and surely he knows this. I quickly stood up to check the amount and it was correct so I allowed him to continue. The contactless didn't work so he jammed the card into the machine and it didn't contact properly which it wouldn't in the way he was putting it in so he angrily took it out and rubbed it on his leg whilst countering on about it not working, asking if it was American Express (which it wasn't) and blaming me for it not working but I could see it was the way he was doing it and no fault of my card.

At this point I was very concerned as I am aware of card skimming and felt he had constructed the scenario to lead up to him doing this and I thought he may be trying to steal my card data under the pretence he was cleaning the chip on the card. I will add here that I am not saying he has done this and I have not had any fraudulent transactions to date but it put me on edge for the rest of the day. Had he been a pleasant person and treated me properly I wouldn't have felt this way but I spent the rest of the day checking my banking app and I am still doing so in case my card data has been stolen.

Due to my concern I took my card back. He tried to take it again because I had not paid yet. I didn't allow him to as I didn't want him having my card and there is no reason for him to need it. I took the machine from him and put the card in carefully and made the payment with no problem.

In summary the staff are awful here. One was walking around coughing everywhere and clearing his throat into a bin near our table!! Disgusting! They clearly didn't like that we only wanted drinks because they weren't getting as much money from us. The place was very dated and unclean and I can only presume this place is still in business due to its location and ability to get passing tourism trade from people who don't know better. I highly doubt they will have returning customers. Hopefully a nicer owner will take over this cafe and make it a place deserving of it's location. This was very much a one off in Paris and everywhere else and everyone else we dealt with were very pleasant...

Awful place. We sat down to order drinks and the waiter seemed initially friendly. We made a point of getting the small size drinks offered at happy hour prices, 2 small beers and a small Pina colada. The waiter kept trying to upsell up larger size beers (or pretending to mishear maybe) but we were quite clear. Initially, we were having a good time, good music, great company. Then the drinks arrived and I got about a quarter into my pina colada before I realised it probably wasn't 20cl. I wasn't sure because we don't use these measurements at all in the UK. The bill then arrived charging us almost 10 euro for the cocktail when it was supposed to be 5. We told the waiter we had ordered 20cl but he immediately turned aggressive to us rather than apologetic, demanding that we had asked for the bigger size. We had even pointed to the smaller size on the menu when ordered, and with the way he was trying desperately to upsell us to larger sizes, we think this is a bit of a tourist scam - deliberately misunderstanding orders hoping we'll be too shy to stand up to the added cost. Well we did stand up to it and this waiter and his manager were some of the rudest people in hospitality I've ever met. No apology, no admittance of a possible misunderstanding or mistake, they didn't even let me finish my drink! Swiped it away right from under me (and I definitely hadn't yet drunk 20cl of it so even though they EVENTUALLY changed the price back to what it should have been, I was still overcharged). We left pretty soon after that because they were extremely passive aggressive towards and we could see them gesturing rudely as we left.

I should add that I've never left a bad review in my life. I'm relatively young and work in hospitality myself and I know how entitled customers can be. This wasn't one of those situations. We just didn't fall for one of their popular tourist scams and they got very petty and childish about it.

Avoid!!! There are much nicer and better value places to eat and drink if you stray a little further away from tourist...
