After buying a 50 euro bottle of wine, this is the first place in my life where I get screamed at by a strange inexperienced member of staff (reasons for this definition below).
We ordered 30 minutes before closure and aware of how late it was, we asked if there was a point finalizing the purchase. The waiter (probably only focusing on making the sale) assured us that we could go inside to finish the bottle, but he didn’t explain that we only had 15/20 minutes inside to finish. Once inside, first one waitress tells us to hurry up at 22:15, then I hear the guy ask loudly “did you pay for that bottle of water?”, like we were trying not to pay for it and then he told us to hurry up. He seemed very tense and he startled us, so I dared to question why he sold us the bottle if we didn’t have the time to finish it. At that point he starts screaming at us for no reason, telling us that he told us. Told us what exactly? Neither me or my friends had a clue that we only had to rush finishing the bottle once inside. Moral of the story is that we finish the bottle at 23 minutes past and there was no reason to be so rude. He only accomplished to ruin our evening.
A special mention to Thierry, the owner, who supports his staff bad behaviour, by attacking and saying we are racist.
Never again...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of organizing a team-building event for my colleagues at BCG at Cave Vino Sapiens, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish.
The team at Cave Vino Sapiens was incredibly responsive and accommodating throughout the planning process. Their clear communication and flexibility made organizing the event both efficient and stress-free.
The tasting session, led by sommelier Michel, was a true highlight. His depth of knowledge, engaging storytelling, and passion for wine enriched the experience significantly. We sampled a thoughtfully curated selection of national and international wines, each accompanied by perfectly paired artisanal cheeses, cured meats, and fresh bread — all of outstanding quality.
The atmosphere was warm, intimate, and conducive to team interaction, making it a perfect setting for both professional bonding and social enjoyment. I would highly recommend Cave Vino Sapiens for corporate team-building events, private gatherings, or anyone interested in a refined and insightful introduction to...
Read moreFriends, just hoping this post helps you plan your time here in Paris. I am a winemaker, guiding a small group of people here in Paris. I made a reservation weeks ago at Cave Vino Sapiens. When I arrived with my group, the owner told me we only had an hour and a half. I thought it was strange that we had a time limit on our visit, but we went with it. The service was so limited. I’m not sure what I expected. We were told to scan the QR code for the menu, so we ordered a few things and made the best of it. We are a lively group… we found a bottle that we loved and wanted to open another bottle. When I mentioned our time limit, the staff said it was no problem, so we carried on. A few minutes later, someone came in to tell us we had to leave. With practically full glasses. Clearly they were not communicating with each other. It was embarrassing and poor customer service. There are many other great wine shops in Paris with better potential experiences. I hope this helps somebody plan for a better experience...
