I wish I could give zero stars. Restaurant accepted our booking through fork for 6.30 pm. Heads up - do not book through fork!! Very rude when we arrived - restaurant stinks of animal urine and we were told restaurant only opens at 7 pm despite their having accepted our reservation. On arrival we explained we had an accepted reservation ( table was reserved with our name on it) and we wanted to eat early as we had young children with us. All ok apparently. We were then left sitting for 15 minutes- no menus, no servers, no offer of a drink - no one appeared. Left after 15 minutes after calling out several times to advise we were about to leave . Woman came rushing out in a tracksuit with mouthful of food asking why we were leaving !!! Stench of restaurant was really getting to us by then. They need to rip out the carpet and replace.Post Script . After posting my honest comments above the restaurant responded with false claims that the children were noisy and treated the room like a playground. That is a complete fabrication!! The children were tired and hungry and sat quietly waiting for dinner. The almost 4 year old sat on his mother’s lap the entire time and the 6 year old just sat quietly talking to the rest of the family. There were no other people, including no staff, in the restaurant the entire time - no guests to disturb in any event - you will note their assertion that restaurant did not open until 7 but the children disturbed their other guests!😂On arrival , as I have stated, we were advised the restaurant did not formally open until 7 but our 6.30 booking had been accepted and we were ushered to our table which had a reserved card with our name on it. I have advised the concierge of our nearly hotel of our experience and they will not be sending any of their guests to the restaurant. It is very disappointing when management resort to untruths to try to defend abysmal service and poor treatment of guests. Caveat emptor...
Read moreThe food tasted good. However there were many issues with our meal. First the service was extremely slow. We ordered a steamed fish. About 45 minutes into our meal the server said the restaurant was sold out of the fish and we could order something else. We ordered another dish and then 5 minutes later the server came to our table with the original fish we ordered. I was happy until we started to eat the fish and it wasn’t fully cooked through. We told a manager who came to ask us how our meal was that the fish wasn’t properly cooked. She responded “that’s unfortunate”. When it came time to pay our bill, I noticed we were charged for an extra bottle of Evian. When I brought this to my servers attention, he stated they already discounted the fish due to our complaint and therefore we should be ok with an extra water. I stated this wasn’t acceptable so he finally came out with a proper bill. We were never informed the fish would be discounted (it was still 100 euros) but this overall interaction was unpleasant. For a 300 euro meal for a family of 4, this was a lackluster experience.

I had the pleasure of dining at Chez Ly in Paris, and it was an experience to remember. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegance and warmth, making it an ideal spot for a great meal.
Now, I’ll admit—I’m a huge fan of Asian food, so maybe I’m a little biased. But in this case, I don’t think so! One dish that absolutely deserves a shoutout is their shrimp dumplings. Perfectly steamed, with tender shrimp wrapped in a delicate, translucent skin, they were bursting with flavor. Every bite was a treat, and I’d go back just for those.
Beyond the dumplings, the menu is a masterclass in Asian cuisine, with bold yet balanced flavors in every dish. The service was top-notch—attentive without being overbearing—which only made the experience even better.
If you’re in Paris and craving incredible Asian food, Chez Ly is the place to go. I enjoyed every moment and can’t...
