Paris may be known for its show-stopping sights and centuries of lore, but it’s also a city of intimate corners and unscripted moments. Tucked in the 8th arrondissement near the Champs-Élysées, The Norman Hotel captures that local magic in a way that feels both sophisticated and comfortably familiar.
Rooms & Comfort Step inside and you’ll find rooms that strike a fine balance between polished style and genuine warmth. Think tasteful modern art, plush linens, and layouts that don’t make you feel like you’ve been shoehorned into the usual Parisian shoebox. It’s the sort of space that invites you to toss your bags aside, stretch out, and think, “Yeah, I could get used to this.”
Service & Atmosphere The staff have mastered the subtle art of making you feel genuinely welcome. They’re on-hand with everything from practical local tips to arranging a last-minute taxi—prompt, friendly, and just the right amount of attentive. Meanwhile, the hotel’s ambience manages to be both stately and laid-back, proof that you can have a touch of Old World elegance without veering into stuffy territory.
Breakfast When morning rolls around, you’ll want to head downstairs for the breakfast spread. Sure, you can load up on eggs, cheese, and fruit, but the croissants are the shining stars here—flaky, buttery revelations that might just ruin you for the rest of the city. Pair them with a strong espresso (or two), and you’ll be set to roam Paris from dawn till dusk.
Location & Final Thoughts Outside, the Champs-Élysées is at your doorstep, ready to charm you with its high-end shops and iconic views. Inside, The Norman remains a cozy, refined retreat, a place to unwind and let the hum of the city fade into the background. If you’re looking to explore Paris from a base that feels every bit as authentic as the surrounding boulangeries and brasseries, The Norman Hotel is your spot. It’s the little moments—like sipping coffee in a thoughtfully designed lounge or chatting with a genuinely kind concierge—that remind you sometimes the best travel memories come from everyday...
Read moreWe were a party of 4 people, consisting of 3 generations of one family, staying in Paris for 4 nights. We had to book a room at Norman Hotel last minute, whilst we were in Paris, because we were let down by booking.com for an apartment we had previously booked.
We called Norman Hotel directly to book, and the staff could not have been more amenable and welcoming. We were welcomed out of the taxi by the doorman, who kindly took our luggage from the taxi to our rooms. We asked for 2 twin rooms, which were ready for us when we arrived. All staff that we encountered were not just polite and professional, but friendly, proactive, attentive and always there if we needed them. This includes maids, doormen, concierge, and bar staff.
The rooms were very pleasant, with a tasteful and modern design, temperature control that worked well and easily, and sufficient storage for clothes and belongings. We slept well, with no light through the curtains, a good mattress and minimal noise, although the pillows could have been the same size as these were a little uncomfortable. The lighting was perfect, and easy to control from the bed area. The hotel considered adequate USB charging ports next to the bed, but unfortunately these did not work in our room- we should have mentioned this when we were there, and I'm sure it would have been attended to.
We didn't eat in the hotel as we were eager to explore the city, however, we did use the bar. Again, service was excellent, the drinks menu and presentation was very good. The environment felt luxurious, yet comfortable. Drinks were quite pricey, although this was expected.
Last, but not least, the location of this hotel could not have been better for us. A stone's throw away from the Arc de Triomphe, close to several metro stations, and the hop-on bus, and just a short walk to most of the major sights that we wanted to see.
In summary, we loved this hotel, would highly recommend and plan to...
Read moreI had the pleasure of staying at the Norman Hotel & Spa in Paris for five nights, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel truly exceeded my expectations in terms of price, location, cleanliness, and overall service.
First and foremost, the location of the hotel was ideal. It allowed easy access to the major attractions of Paris, making my sightseeing adventures effortless. This added convenience greatly enhanced my stay.
The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable. It's evident that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a spotless environment, which is particularly important in today's world. The rooms were consistently well-kept, and common areas were pristine.
Madame Elham, a member of the hotel staff, deserves special recognition for her exceptional assistance throughout my stay. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and willingness to go above and beyond to meet my needs made a significant positive impact on my experience. She truly made me feel welcome and valued as a guest.
Regrettably, my interaction with Madame Justine was not as positive. She appeared uncooperative and less responsive to guest requests. I requested specific rooms and I found out we had the worst rooms in the floor, the smallest and the less desirable. It's important for all staff members to provide consistent and excellent service to ensure a seamless guest experience.
In summary, my stay at the Norman Hotel & Spa in Paris was outstanding, thanks in large part to its prime location, top-notch cleanliness, and the exceptional service. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others and look forward to returning...
