Tucked just off the Champs-Élysées, Thiou was an unexpected delight—equal parts elevated and easygoing, with a vibe that reminded me you can still have fun even when dining somewhere that made the Michelin Guide.
The menu is everything you want from upscale Thai cuisine, with just the right amount of French finesse. We started with the assiette de dégustation, and it was a hit from the first bite: tender chicken skewers dressed in a velvety peanut sauce, a surprisingly bright and zesty citrus beef salad (yes, beef can be refreshing), and mini shrimp and basil spring rolls served with a chili sauce that struck a perfect balance of sweet and heat. Every bite was thoughtful and flavorful without being overly fussy.
For our mains, we kept it classic—Pad Thai for my companion and a beautifully spiced Red Curry for me. Both were exactly what you want from high-end Thai: bold, balanced, and comforting without feeling heavy. It wasn’t trying too hard to reinvent the wheel—just executing the fundamentals with precision and a touch of flair.
The atmosphere was another highlight. Though the restaurant is housed in a sleek hotel space with a Michelin Key to its name, the team at Thiou doesn’t lean into pretension. The staff was warm, welcoming, and even playful—offering great service with a sense of humor. In a city where Michelin recognition can sometimes come with a side of stuffiness, Thiou was refreshingly down-to-earth.
In short? If you’re craving Thai food in Paris and want a dining experience that’s equal parts refined and relaxed, Thiou is well worth a reservation. A solid meal, an enjoyable ambiance, and no attitude—just...

Some of the food was fantastic, with some great twists on Thai food - the Ravioli for example was sensational. Other menu items though didn't really hit the mark - perhaps being a little too subtle for what we would prefer from a Thai restaurant.
I am very glad we tried Thiou and if there was an option for 3.5* (or 7/10) that would be more appropriate as it is above average BUT not quite very good. If you are craving authentic Thai flavours Thiou possibly isn't for you, but if you want to experience something new then give it a...
Read moreCame here following the Michelin Guide and I was not disappointed! Thiou is such a special, well-curated, elevated Thai restaurant. I came here by myself and ordered the pad thai and the pandan cocktail. The service is awesome with well-trained staffs. I feel well taken care of, safe, and happy with the experience! A small note that the pad thai came with full stem, uncut parsley. Would have been better if they were cut into smaller portion :) The atmosphere and interior screams elegance, tidiness, and posh
