Oh my god what an experience. Amazing amazing amazing. Each plate was a rollercoaster of emotions resulting from mouthwatering tastes and ofcourse a magnificent presentation. For starters we shared the raviole a la creme (8/10) which was a very nice start to our gastronomic journey. Then for mains we got the souris d'agneau (9/10) which was melting from the bone and was fantastic and the roasted duck in honey and rosemary (10/10). This plate had me begging it never ended. It was UNBELIEVABLE in all aspects. Amazing presentation, fantastic combinations of tastes and magnificent cooking. We finished the night with the creme brulee vanilla (9/10) which was also arguably the best dessert we had in our stay in Paris. We went to this place on our last night in Paris and it left us thinking when are we going to visit Paris again to come to Chez Toinette one more time at least in our lifetime. I could not write this review without mentioning our waiter and now our great friend Rony which was unbelievably helpful, kind and hospitable making us feel like home and definitely increased dramatically our enjoyment of the whole experience. Read moreI am so in love with this restaurant, I will definitely come back next time I'm in Paris. I brought my 11 yr old son here for our last dinner in Paris before returning back to the States, and they did not disappoint! The wait staff was immediately warm and welcoming, and our server, Ludovic (I hope I'm spelling that correctly), was absolutely wonderful. For appetizers, we ordered the escargot and house-made ravioli, which were both delicious. Seriously, the ravioli made me do a little happy-dance. For our main course, we ordered the pork knuckle and the duck breast, both of which were amazing. I was hoping for an amazing French dining experience to end our trip, and this place delivered!! And I can't say enough about the wait staff. They were so warm and friendly, very sweet about my lack of French language skills, and genuinely made our experience the best we've had in Paris so far. (And honestly, ladies, Ludovic is as delicious as the food, so if you want some added sweetness with your meal, come check this place out. If I wasn't leaving tomorrow, I'd come back for him as well...
Read moreReally disappointing. We saw the great reviews and were really excited to go but it just wasn't great. It looked lovely from the outside but wasn't great inside. They seated a table of 5 after us (we were a 2) and they served them first, which meant that they actually ran out of 2 of the 5 starters before they got round to serving us. I had the mussels, they were presented well but we're really overcooked and had the bitter taste of burnt garlic. The duck breast looked incredible, but if you know anything about duck breast it was just cooked really badly. The fat wasn't at all rendered so it was chewy, and the meat looked pink but had obviously not been left to rest (lots of blood on the plate) and so it was really dry. We ordered the "farmhouse cheeses of the moment" for dessert and were presented with 3 tiny slices of one cheese, so we just sent it back. The meal came to €100 and was just really disappointing - looked great but tasted average to poor. Not many French people in there which was probably a giveaway, lots...
