Tldr; the owner pressured us to sit in to eat, the ice cream tasted like americam grocery store ice cream, the crepe waa sub par, and the worst part is that it cost more than the listed prices because we sat down. Also, I've literally never written a Google review (EVER) because I've never had such a bizarrely bad experience before. Were tried to order ice cream and a crepe to go, because we needed to go to a museum before it closes, but the owner insisted, HARD, that we sit down to eat. Feeling a little overwhelmed and not strong in french, we agreed. The ice cream tasted like ice cream you get in an American grocery store (i.e., not at all what I expect from a ice cream shop in france. The crepe was supposed to have nutella on it, but they basically just drizzled some on. All of this would annoying but whatever. The egregious part came when we paid our bill. The bill didn't match the listed prices. That's when one of the employees tells us the crepe and ice cream cost more because we sat down. Which we only did because we felt pressured to by the owner! And the sit down experience was just 2 chairs facing the road with a tiny table. Would have been more comfortable on a park bench. Wouldn't have found it worth it to write a review, but being conned out of paying more money by being strongly urged to sit down is absolutely ridiculous. I will also be posting this in french (thanks chatgpt!) So that people who only speak French can hopefully know to avoid this scam of a ice cream shop/restaurant. The reply given (at the time of this response) claims we took a picture of the price difference between sit down and getting to go, but we 100% did not take any such picture. And it was not clearly posted, which is why when I asked why it was different pricing, an employee had to verbally tell me. Basically, if the customer wants the food to go, the owner insists the customer sits, and it turns out the cost is more to sit (which the owner never told us when he insisted we sit), it's a scam. Regardless, it felt fishy that the owner was pressuring us to sit, and now I understand why. They wanted more money and they made sure to be sneaky about it. But I guess when you're unashamed to take advantage tourists, it's...
Read moreWe wanted takeaway ice cream - easy, right? Others were ordering at the stall on the street and carrying it off in cones. We asked for the same - a man I assume was the owner insisted that no, we had to sit down, and he would bring the ice cream to us. He also refused to serve us cones because we were sitting down. Instead, the ice cream came in a glass. It was mediocre ice cream at best. I've sampled a lot of dessert places in Paris and most have been very good, but this was just blah, like generic cheap American ice cream. After requesting our food, the same man ordered my husband (who is French) to sit down, as well. The owner then came around the corner, where we were sitting in front, and demanded that we change seats because I was at a table and my husband was only next to the table (mind you, we never wanted to sit in the first place, and all the chairs pointed directly out to the sidewalk, not around tbe tables). The man physically tapped us and gestured to where we HAD to sit. My husband also ordered a crepe. It was 8,5€ on the menu, but when he went to pay, they charged him 10,5€. He asked why, and they said it was because we sat down and got table service AS WE WERE FORCED TO DO. No further explanation nor refund was given. I have truly never experienced such a bizarre experience at a food establishment. (The crepe was also just blah - not gross, but very generic and nowhere near the quality we have had elsewhere in France.) I guess we got scammed. There are MANY much better shops on every corner of Paris; try one of...
Read moreWe came here the first time to have crepes take away. They were hot and delicious and so good that I had written a great review for this place right away. But the next time we came here (just a day later), the experience changed completely.
Second time we decided to sit down and eat, which infact was our biggest mistake.
We ordered 4 coffees and 4 crêpes and even for our coffees to arrive, it took around 25 minutes.
We kept waiting and after further waiting for 10 minutes, we asked them about how much more we need to wait and instead of being polite or apologetic, the serving lady said angrily that “it’s coming in 5 min” We waited for another 10 minutes and went again at the counter to ask about our food. The lady pointed rudely that your food is ready at her counter.
One of the staff members came, apologized and served us our food and told us that their strategy is to serve the people for take away first even if the ones sitting have ordered before because the ones sitting will sit and wait for a while but the ones who take won’t.
When our food came, it was completely cold and didn’t taste nice.
We saw 4 customers leaving in front of us just because of all the delay and cold food.
Highly...
