What to make of this place!?! It felt like a bonkers eve, in a good way, overall. It's got the intimate vibe going on, the lights are down so low that on arrival we thought the restaurant was closed. It is so dark inside you can't read the menu! The music was an eclectic mix of 90/00's music with an occasional french classic tune thrown in, all played much louder than you'd expect for a restaurant. The high ceilings, adorning chandeliers and the white linen on tables indicates this is an upmarket place but with no cloakroom the place looked a bit messy with coats hanging off the back off chairs and dragging on the floor.
The menu was had a nice array of fish, seafood and meat options and what we ordered was delicious both starters and mains. I was told to pick one side to accompany my main (seared tuna), would have been nice to have two sides especially when the one side you pick (green beans) is so generous in size it could easily been halved and made room for a second side option. Don't expect to see any butter on offer when the bread comes out.
The evening was fascinating from the people watching, the bumpy service we experienced to having a drink spilt over me by another diner, it all made for a memorable evening, making us smile at the theatre of it all. Not one we would rush back to but definitely an experience and all at a...
Read moreRecently dinned at this restaurant, bit of a last minute booking while we visited Paris, little apprehensive after reading some of the negative reviews. Overall very good dinning experience, very nice atmosphere with good service and good food. Pricing could be considered high for some but this isnât a chain restaurant itâs a small intimate venue with very limited covers so made sense to be maybe 5-10% more then the average which is negligible compare to usual Paris bistros, which made sense. Other reviews who state itâs extremely expensive Iâd be curious to understand to what they compare it to.
Menu offered a decent selection which is should cater for most, very good wine list with price points to tick most boxes.
Service was very good, we were first to arrive when the restaurant was empty but very quickly became full.
Friendly and attentive enough staff, very intimate, lively and stylish vibe in this place, would visit again.
I donât normally leave reviews but felt some of the reviews on here are very unjustified considering...
Read moreFound this place on open table, strange that i cant find it on trip advisor though. The place itself was very cosy and romantic, good music. Service was okay, although we felt rushed, our starter came out in 5 minutes, closely followed by mains, we asked to wait a while before ordering deserts and you could tell they wanted us to hurry up, they also didn't pour our wine, which was poor. Food options were very miss matched, we didn't feel like any of the menu went with starters, mains or sides, and wasn't very well put together. Also starters were the same cost as mains - strange! The food we did have was nice - nothing blew us away. Cheese board was bad, hard bread, 2 mild cheeses and my tiramisu was more like a trifle. I also left a pair of expensive gloves on the seat, when i called the next day "surprise surprise" they couldn't be found, i find this hard to believe as we were some of the last in...
