I really wanted to like this place, I really did, but it really didnt deliver.
I arrived hungry and, for starters, asked for the "Boom Balls" - described as essentially Jalapeño Poppers with gouda cheese, these came over over done, extra crispy, and in some cases the filling had exploded or leaked out, leaving nothing but a crunch ball tasting vaguely of Jalapeño. 2/5 , a score that could have easily been remedied if they had been cooked a little less.
Having been craving a smash burger for a while, I eagerly ordered the smash burger with regular fries at first but then switched to sweet potato fries, walking up to the counter to change my order.
When my burger arrived, not only was it lukewarm, but the burger was CRUNCHY. I know smash burgers are supposed to be thin, with the edges caramelised, but like the boom balls, this was clearly overcooked, with only. The burger as a result was dry, brittle and tasteless.
The chips were stone cold, and not even sweet potato fries. Highly recommended? I'm highly...
Read moreThis was my fourth time at Goiko, first time on this location, and I was so disappointed. It was one of my favorite places for burgers but this time the service was very very slow. We waited 40 min for the tequeños (that was the entry) and they were delicious, but then waited another 20 min for the burgers. When we got there the place was not crowded at all, so that was not the reason for the long waiting time. On top of that, my mom's burger came with the meat barely cooked although we asked for it to be "à point". It was immediately changed for a new burger but after waiting for over an hour since we arrived the experience was not the same. The pork on my burger was burned on the bottom, and the fries were not good at all (they used to be one of my favorite things at this chain of restaurants as well). In summary, I don't think I'll be going back to this particular Goiko...
Read moreGoiko has long been my favorite burger place in Paris. For it to open in Boulevard Saint-Michel with a refreshed menu is a nice addition. As always, the food was great, and so was the atmosphere. Everyone there is extremely helpful, especially our waitress for the night, Nadeen. She made sure everything was exactly how we ordered it and she helped through all our questions. Would definitely recommend their chicken Kim-Cheese! The frites rustiques and their own iced tea accompany the...
