Mabo Ramen was unreal, so delicious, so perfectly balanced. The weakest part was the actual noodles, which were merely normal. Shumai as a part of the meal was a phenomenal decision, the rice dough used in them was cooked to a fabulous consistency, almost gooey soft but perfectly steamed, not too mention the divine flavors of each ravioli, no sauce soja necessary! I also had yaki udon, which I believe is a bit of a stretch from traditional, but they made the experiment with it with delicious tender shredded beef and a sensual sauce it was all fried in. So so good! After their remodel, the one remaining thing that needs work is their napkins and chopsticks, which were too thin and tissue-like, and too square to be comfortable in my hand, respectively.

Great place for ramen! Definitely the BEST restaurant for the most bang out of your hard earned euros. Food is one of the best around town especially for it's price, but again, missing salt, and not as rich as authentic Japanese ramen that you can eat in Tokyo. The solution: just generously pour the provided soy sauce on the table to your ramen or other meals. They use the correct ramen noodle type, but doesn't taste homemade to me, which is okay. The Chahan (Fried Rice) IS SO GOOD, just add some soy sauce. The kimchi ramen that I tried is also good, but the kimchi itself tastes quite bland (not like real kimchi, prob. because the real one is spicy) Ambiance is awesome, although expect some queue during dinner time. Very good experience overall.

Mediocre Experience We went during peak time with a group of six + didn’t need to wait long - it smelled so aweful in front of the restaurant that we nearly had to puke Food: + Good quantities for reasonable price +/-: Food was of mediocre quality. Compared to my experience in Japan I didn’t find it authentic: for example the gyoza were only made of porc instead of a beef/porc mixture and there was way to much ginger in it and no additional sauce. The other dishes were all decent but no revelation. Service: + once we ordered the food came quickly - it took quite some time untill a waiter showed up at our table Atmosphere: + lively - it was rather loud and we were sitting in the back and the AC (?) kept making a very nerve wracking high pitch noise constantly Because overall it was just a mediocre I wouldn’t go again eventhough it was not a bad choice. I wouldn’t recommend going there with people who have actually been to Japan since they might find it underwhelming. On the other hand the portion size was really good for the price and if you don’t mind that it’s rather noisy there you could give it a try especially because they offer a big variety of dishes. If possible take the seats to the window :)

This place has the most delicious Japanese food I've ever tasted. I went with a friend whose been going since it opened and she recommended I go with her. It's run by a Portuguese family and all the chefs are Japanese. The kitchen is open, so you can sit infront and watch them or choose a table somewhere else. The staff are so in sync and organised, which makes the atmosphere of this place amazing! We went around 17.00, by the time we finished, there was a queue lining up down the street. This proves how popular it is here. No reservations needed, so go before the crowd builds up. I cannot tell you all enough how amazing the food was, the taste and texture was incredible. You must go to see for yourself!
