Spontaneously came here for dinner because we were living in a hotel across the street. Totally grateful for coming here because we would not have found this place otherwise on our trip to Paris. They have good food with very good flavors and good portion sizes as well. Food was also very cheap which we definitely appreciated!
Croque Madame - Really nice with a full layer of cheese melt and that egg on there. Egg was also cooked perfectly Sunny side up and the melted yoke went well with everything else on the plate.
Roast chicken (kinda Rotisserie chicken-ish) + Potatoes - Chicken with cooked perfectly soft and tender and had good flavor as well. It was a chicken breast piece which we definitely appreciated. Potatoes were like chunks of boiled potato, but I like them.
Beef Tartare+ Fries + Greens (with dressing) - What a lovely combination! First time trying a beef tartar and it was really lovely. It went really well with the greens and the baguette that was served on the table. Kind of like a beef tartar sandwich! Fries will crispy and so so so good! Everyone on the table enjoyed.
French Onion Soup (with Gratin Toast) - Glad we could try this one here on our trip to France. The soup was hot and steamy and had a nice flavor too. That gratin toast on top off the soup was the perfect pairing. Little bites of that bread along with a soup gave it a really good mouth feel.
We really wanted to get that brioche French toast for dessert but we were so full with the food that we couldn't. Definitely would recommend trying it though cuz everything else we had...
Read moreExtremely unpleasant dinning experience. I googled it before having dinner in this place and it turned out to be almost totally disappointed. I ordered the foie gras and the plat du jour which contains fried salmon and baked potatoes. The foie gras was very salty and I had to drink lots of water. The only thing made me slightly pleased was the fried salmon with the cream sauce while the baked potatoes were too greasy. During the whole dining period, no one came to ask my opinion about the food while I saw they did ask other customers. Obviously I was ignored perhaps it was because I was the only one customer who ate alone, but at last when I paid the bill and it took a century to wait for the change, I knew this long waiting apparently meant that they wanted the tips. I don't mind giving the tips and it was my habit to give good tips for good service. However, since this time I didn't enjoy my meal and service, I waited patiently to get the change. The ending was that the waitress almost threw the bucket with the change back to me which caused super loud noise of the table, leading the customers who were sitting by the next table all looked at me. I felt embarrassed. And I left, the waitress was only standing by the door and sent me off with her silence. I guess that's one of the reason why some tourists say the paris people are arrogant because some staff they don't care...
Read moreI have to agree with another who reviewed for their order of steak.. It was raining so we went to the closest restaurant from our hotel. Greeted by a friendly waiter. Sat at a nice table. My wife specks French so there is no communication breakdown. When looking at he menu my wife says we should split the ribs that feeds two to three.... the waiter takes it out from a case behind us and proceeds to cut from a rack of prime rib. We thought we would be getting short ribs but this looked much better. When asked we would like it cooked we went with medium.....my wife prefers it this way...I prefer medium rare. When the waiter brought it to the table and carved it ....it was like they hadn't even cooked it...blood red all the way through!!!....my wife barely touched hers...mine? Too rare even for me and....tough...really had to work on it...,worst of all...79 euros!!! Our daughter got the regular steak...hers was medium rare...she had asked for medium well...she said it was just ok... The cheese mashed potatoes were good ... One of the worst steaks...
