This was Saturday morning after Christmas. Very cold outside, had to stop to get a hot chocolate. All the tables were full with waiting customers and I only saw one waitress who didn’t make eye contact with anyone. I wrote on Google translate- could you please make sure the hot chocolate is actually hot & she read it. Could you warm up the croissant? She said yes to all. 20 min pass by & nothing. Every table has been waiting longer than me. More people kept showing up. We saw the waitress less & less. Finally brings chocolate ((not hot) but lukewarm. What’s the point of getting a hot chocolate if it is not hot? Croissant not warmed up. Never saw her again to get check. I had to get up & tell manager I needed to go. Stand by register & told her that one waitress cannot handle this many customers. If you don’t have the staff, the service will suffer. Explained to her what occurred. She never apologized & gave me the check. Probably because I was one person with a total check of $9.19. I work in hospitality, I know the business. A customer is a customer no matter how much they consume. I saw and heard many other customers complaining that no one had gone to their table. I would avoid this restaurant...
Read moreOur visit to La Dame de Paris was a happy accident, a stop made necessary by a sudden rain shower in Paris. This unexpected detour turned out to be a delightful experience, offering one of the most enjoyable breakfasts we had in the city. The quality and taste of the breakfast here stood out compared to other cafes we visited.
While the staff's proficiency in English was moderate, they were friendly and made an effort to ensure a pleasant service, which added to the overall positive experience. The cleanliness of the cafe, particularly the toilets, was also noteworthy and contributed to the welcoming atmosphere.
This experience was a lovely surprise, highlighting the joy of discovering hidden gems. I would definitely recommend La Dame de Paris to those looking for a cozy breakfast spot in Paris with good food and a welcoming environment. It deserves a solid 5-star rating for turning an unplanned stop into a memorable part...
Read moreIt's too bad you can't give a negative star rating. We stumbled upon this place after visiting Notre Dame. I wish I had read reviews on it before we opted to go here. The food can only be described as marginal. The service was horrible. This was literally the worst restaurant experience we had in the entire month we were in Europe.
Our waitress obviously didn't want to be there. When she came and took our order, she literally made this disdainful hand gesture when we asked for water. We should have gotten up and left at that exact moment but mistakenly thought it would get better. We were wrong. Her entire attitude was more or less annoyance at having to serve us.
I read some positive reviews and I have to imagine that some of their wait staff must be better. But frankly, I wouldn't risk the chance that you might have an experience as bad as ours and you shouldn't have to just get lucky enough to have...
