The Maison Colbert hotel is in a great location. It is near Notre Dame and is near a few of the metro stations. There are tons of restaurants and eateries in the area as well if you venture out from the hotel. The hotel breakfast was rudimentary, but delicious and complementary.||||Around the fourth day of my stay, I realized that I had unfortunately left my safe open as I was in a hurry to go to the Eiffel Tower. When I returned to pay my driver in euros instead of my credit card, I realized that I had at least €400 unaccounted for that was in my safe. I totally regret not locking my safe. My room had been cleaned that morning, and I didn’t think anyone would need to enter. I forgot about evening turn down service. ||||From that point forward I kept my do not enter sign on, and I personally cleaned my room at night in which Adam, a hotel representative, helped me with supplies, sheets, and any other items needed to ensure I had a clean space during the remainder of my day. The lack of hot water that existed for a day went unexplained but was fixed relatively quickly. That was helpful as I prefer not to clean with lukewarm water. ||||I spoke with the general manager, I think his name was Franco Chesi. He assured me that there would be a thorough investigation and that this was the first time that anything of this nature had occurred regarding the missing euros. Mr. Chesi promised to update me and get back with me but the only thing the entire hotel staff did was attempt to pacify me verbally until the end of my stay.||||Though this hotel had mostly great reviews, there was a review that I read where someone else had a similar experience. So, I find it ironic that both of us were missing money and that our things had been gone through while it seems the hotel takes zero accountability. In fact, the likelihood of the hotel responding back like it did to the other guest, which was their staff is trustworthy, has been there for 20 years, and that the investigation showed no such issue, is highly probable. However, two different people having the same experience should say more, so guests beware. ||||Moreover as an Executive member as I booked through Costco, I would employ Costco to be very mindful of the partnership with this hotel. Again, the reviews were so amazing, that I expected nothing less than an amazing experience as well.||||Also, during my stay, I did experience some rudeness from the front staff. Esti reprimanded me on a number of occasions despite my clear verbalization of the camera policy. She also proceeded to reprimand me for speaking with other guests despite not knowing the nature of the conversations. Esti assumed and was badly mistaken in her rebukes. ||||Mr. Antonio was amazing, and I couldn’t ask for better service. I really enjoyed his tips and support. Adam was also extremely helpful, especially with my night cleaning. It was very hot during the day (and night while cleaning) as someone had turned off the main switch to the air conditioner at the facility. It was miserable for about 2-3 days of my stay. Through all of this, which was not an inexpensive trip, nothing at all was done by the hotel to accommodate or offer any kind of compensation. ||||This is extremely subpar service and poor behavior for allegedly a 5 star hotel. While the hotel may not take any responsibility or accountability, it surely reflects on the partnerships of Costco and how members will make decisions...
Read moreHow did this place ever get a five star rating? My wife and I arrived at around 8:30pm after taking the train from Switzerland. The "only" room available was a tiny, tiny room on the ground floor. It was so small that my wife and I started laughing but figured it was only for one night. We just wanted a glass of wine and to watch the French Open but the tv didn't work. After some diligent effort by the concierge (he was great but we never saw him the rest of our stay), we were moved to a larger room on the second floor. Kind of begs the question - if this room was available why not just give it to us at the outset rather than stick us in a closet-sized room.||You better hustle downstairs as soon as they are open for breakfast - the only meal served by the hotel. They have one lady waiting on all the guests and ordering from the menu really increases the lead time (even if it's just scrambled eggs and bacon).||This really irritated us: we were told that the hotel would move us to scheduled room after the first night. Fine, another move, but hopefully a better room. After sightseeing all morning and walking miles to view Paris, we just wanted to get back to our room and lay down. But they locked us out of our second room because housekeeping cleans from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. So we were told to sit in the restaurant where lunch is not an option. I couldn't believe it. We were already guests at the hotel: if the staff knew we would be kicked out of our second room, they should have directed housekeeping to have our next room available shortly after noon. If they can't accomplish that simple move as a five star rated hotel, then at least have the decency to let us know that our room would not be available until 3:00pm. I |suspected they did not appreciate my feedback too much as they were less than cordial for the remainder of our visit.||The rooms we had were very, very small but I accept that is standard for a Paris boutique hotel in a good location. The bathrooms are so tiny that one person barely fits in. The lighting in our last room was unpredictable - sometimes everything would come on and other times we struggled with getting the lights on. The thermostat would not respond as the message light claimed "window open" which it was not. I opened and relocked the window several times but the thermostat was not buying it.| |I could keep going but I will end with the noise is unbelievable. Apparently, deliveries for the hotel are scheduled extremely early in the morning and through the front courtyard. Multiple deliveries too; just when you think the clamor of trucks wheeling stuff in and slamming their doors has ended. ||The management of this hotel should stay at Raffles of London and see how a real five star...
Read moreHaving stayed at Maison Colbert Melia previously with great satisfaction, I returned for a three-night June visit expecting the same quality service. This experience was profoundly disappointing and represents a dramatic decline in standards.||Our journey began poorly with a 12-hour Eurostar delay from Amsterdam, forcing us to stand for six hours on a replacement train before arriving at 3 AM instead of our scheduled 4:30 PM check-in. Despite these challenging circumstances and our exhaustion (traveling with our dog), the hotel’s response was inadequate.||The assigned room, while advertised as having a partial Notre Dame view, was impractically small with no proper luggage storage, forcing us to live out of suitcases placed on the floor. ||Most concerning was the complete absence of pet amenities despite paying €50 nightly pet fees and providing advance notice - no bed, bowls, waste bags, or treats were provided.|Service inconsistencies were troubling throughout our stay. ||Front desk staff displayed unprofessional behavior, with one senior employee showing clear bias in greeting only select guests while ignoring others entirely. Other staff members remained glued to computers, offering no acknowledgment to arriving or departing guests.||Operational problems compounded our frustration. Key cards malfunctioned three times, requiring repeated trips to reception with our pet. ||Despite paying an additional €300 for late checkout until 5:30 PM (due to flight delays), internet and television services were terminated at 1 PM. ||Housekeeping staff created constant hallway disruptions with loud conversations and extended cleaning periods that prevented any peaceful rest.||The €600 nightly rate, combined with pet fees, represents extremely poor value given these service failures. ||Even basic room service disappointed - our avocado toast arrived with spoiled fruit, rendering breakfast inedible.||This stay was a stark contrast to my previous positive experience. I cannot recommend this property and will seek alternative accommodations for future...
