Went here for a cup of hot chocolate & some desserts with friends around 2:30pm. The waiters & manager seemed desperate to get us to order, they came to us 3 times instead of giving us the time to choose & decide, which was very pushy. They hadn't asked us in the 4 hrs that we were there, if everything was fine or if we would have liked something else. The cakes were gorgeously presented, the best was definitely the cheesecake, it is their bestseller. The carrot cake had a strong ginger taste & the pear tart's base was warm & with what seemed like frozen pears ontop. The hot chocolate I ordered was extremely thick, pretty disappointing & very expensive for it's 'quality', 7,20€ & it felt like I was having chocolate freshcream soup. Very pricey place for not so top notch quality.. The only reason I would come back is for the cheesecake & it would be for...
Read moreMy wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Bonsoir Madame Hotel, directly across the street from Bread and Roses, so we were able to enjoy it more than once! First was breakfast. We sat outside on a nice Paris day. The service was superb, very attentive and friendly. We each had a quiche which was without question the most delicious we’ve ever had. Third was an afternoon lunch, also outside on a lovely day in Paris. The Niçoise salad was perfectly prepared, with just the right combination of fresh ingredients. And the olive bread as a complement was an unexpected and delightful surprise. We can’t recommend this lovely...

Each portion is about 7in in diameter, individually portioned, not cut from a larger quiche or something. We had the beef lasagne, a quiche, and something described as "french beef" in the English menu, but turned out to be sth like a shephard's pie -- tender beef under a layer of mashed potatoes. The only thing I would skip is the "chocolate cake" on the English menu -- it was a slice from a chocolate loaf cake, so not what I expected (also a bit dry). If they have the apricot tart however, you should 1000% get that. It's in a individual tart with only a little bit of almond paste and a lot of super fresh apricots and a touch of fresh rosemary. The best dessert we had...
