The best gluten-free croissant I've ever had in my life! This Bakery is a 100% gluten-free establishment and completely safe for people like me with celiac disease.
I have to share our first visit! We had a perfect Parisian moment that morning. We walked to the gluten free pastry shop, arriving before they opened and smelled the baking wafting out the door. At 9am we got hot croissants "to go" and ate at a park just 2 minutes away. We sat on a bench under the trees eating our amazing croissants while a little old man played his accordion! The experience was perfection. Each delicious bite made me aware of the amount of butter used in croissant dough and the skill of the baker. To see the lamination layers and the crunch of the outer layer... mmmmmm!
My husband eats gluten and said this croissant is as good as regular ones. The difference is that regular ones tend to be puffier and even more fluffy in the very center.
We went back the next day too! It was later in the day and the croissant was just as delicious. We tried an apple pastry too and I loved it as well. The flavors of this place are phenomenal and the texture was a joy too. This is my absolute favorite bakery in Paris.
It is TINY. I mean, really only enough room to walk in the door and stand there and place your order. When we walked in, I could see the Neuro stairwell bleeding below, which must be where they do their baking. Anyway, there's nowhere to sit and eat your bakery inside nor chairs outside. But there's a lovely shaded cobblestone park about a block and a half away, but it's a perfect place to enjoy your pastries or get them to take home! We spent $28 for two croissants and one chocolate...
Read moreIf youâre gluten free / celiac, GO HERE. This was hands down the best GF croissant Iâve ever had in my life. Iâm not being dramatic when I say that I had literal tears in my eyes after a few bites. It is light and airy like a croissant should be, whereas if youâve had other GF croissants, youâll know theyâre often very dense and bread-y. This is NOT that - it is flakey, light, buttery and beautiful. I genuinely was AMAZED eating it because I donât understand how they get that texture. Itâs not cheap (âŹ8.80 for a croissant), but after I tried it I genuinely felt I wouldâve gladly paid more for another. If you miss flakey pastry (and not the fake dense bun replacements that GF diets seem to get), GO HERE AND GET A CROISSANT. Iâm going back tomorrow for another and honestly, youâll do the same once you try this. Itâs genuinely crazy (I even texted my...
Read moreOne of the most unwelcoming service experiences weâve had. I visited with my family, excited to finally try their famous pain au chocolat and over butter croissants but to our surprise, everything was already sold out before 2 PM, even though the place stays open until 7 or 8 PM.
When we asked about other options, the seller that seems to be the owner, who behaved more like a self-important celebrity than a host, only had some leftover bread and a few overpriced macarons. We decided to try three of the macarons, and honestly, you can find better ones at most supermarkets. The filling wasnât terrible, but overall, nothing special.
The attitude of the owner really stood out, in a bad way. It felt like dealing with a Disney villain: cold, arrogant, and disconnected from customers.
In short: overrated, overpriced, and unpleasant service. Would...
