I stayed 6 nights in the 1 bedroom apartment with my 2 college age children. It was very comfortable and we were grateful for the air as it was very hot and humid in Paris during our stay. We are from Southern California, USA and although it’s hot there too, we have AC everywhere. I’m at the age that I do not tolerate heat so well. 🥵 My handheld fan was a lifesaver. ||My daughter and slept in the bedroom and son was on the pullout. The place was very comfortable. We did not cook at all but the kitchen was useful for fruit, stacks and making ice. ||Check in was a bit confusing at first since it is not a hotel. We were dropped off and we weren’t sure if we were at the right place or how to get into the building. Another family let us in and as I was trying to figure out how to check in, Antoine found me. He was ready and looking for me too. He helped us to our room and he was just fantastic. Basically, don’t worry! They will find you. ||The apartment overlooked a very busy street but with the windows closed, the noise was barely noticeable. In fact we would open the windows to hear the daily life sounds of the “village.” We barely heard any of the other guests, it’s very soundproof. ||As far as Montmartre, I thought it would feel like a quaint French town and that is why I chose it over closer to city center. It was extremely touristy and crowded. Would I stay here again? Yes! It was so very charming and so many narrow cobble stone streets to explore. Make sure to walk the steps to Sacré-Cœur Basilica. It is worth the effort.||Every morning before heading out, I walked a different route to get a pastry for breakfast. It was quiet and cool and one of my favorite parts of the our time in Paris. Most stores weren’t open but that was ok. I was able to go back to the ones that looked interesting. Most nights we ate closer to city center but we would end at our favorite gelato shop just right near Montmartre Residence. ||There is 1 restaurant we ate at in Montmartre called La Mascotte. I would avoid it. The food was ok but everything else was just the strangest and most uncomfortable experience. Don’t want to get into details on this review. ||I would definitely recommend Montmartre Residence, it’s modern and comfortable. If you are from the US, just keep in mind, it’s Paris and with the age of the city, certain things will not be like all the “new” buildings you may be used to. I live in suburban LA, we drive everywhere with the AC on and you have to make an effort to get your steps in. There’s a lot of walking in Paris like most urban cities. With that said, I would stay here again in a heartbeat. It is a beautiful city and we found the people very helpful....
Read moreHighly recommend! Just returned from 9 days in Paris at the Montemartre Residence and loved it! First, the apartment was bright, lovely and comfortable. We rented a one-bedroom. Super clean and organized. Not a thing out of place! Nicely furnished, too. Everything was like new. The kitchen was very well-stocked with a dishwasher, Nespresso, microwave, regular coffee maker, kettle, etc... The bed was really comfortable and the linens were of very good quality. Bathroom had plenty of light, shelf & storage space. Fluffy towels and good water pressure in the shower that always had plenty of hot water. There is also a washing machine (no dryer). The management very professional, courteous, and kind. We ordered continental breakfast (fresh croissants, brioche, juice & coffee) for our first morning and it was more than enough for two. Oh, and before I forget, there is an elevator!!! So no schlepping your luggage up the stairs!
The location is terrific -- right on Rue des Abbesses and about a 2 minute walk to the Abbesses Metro station. Once you get the hang of it, you'll find the Metro to be the best way to get around. It's appox a 20 min ride into the center. Would probably take longer with a taxi/Uber!! In fact, we never took an Uber or taxi. The area really has everything you need for any length of stay. Tons of charming bistros, cafe's & restaurants, fromageries, boucheries, produce, bakeries, etc,... Very much a local village/neighborhood vibe. After a busy day of sightseeing and/or shopping in other parts of the city, it was so nice to come back to Montemartre where we could easily find a place to dine or just buy ingredients for a meal. And of course, the Sacre Coeur Basilica is about a 5 -10 minute walk from the apartment. Place du Tertre is just up the hill. Rue Lepic is two blocks down off of Rue des Abbesses, and the Rue des Martyrs is a few minutes walk. There are also lots of unique boutiques as well as several antique and vintage shops.
We have visited Paris several times, and our stay in the 18th at the Montemartre Residence is at the top of our list! We loved the flexibility of an apartment with some of the qualities and conveniences of a hotel. And the location was perfect for us. We will...
Read moreA great place to stay, especially if traveling with children. We booked a 1-bedroom unit for a last minute trip to Paris based on the positive online reviews and the place exceeded our expectations. Now in all fairness, we were very lucky that we got ungraded to a 2-bedroom corner unit and were able to check-in early after communicating our expected arrival time, which might not happen in all situations. But even if we didn't get all the extra perks of traveling during off-season, the place is pretty great. The unit was spotless. I mean, walk around in your white socks and the bottom doesn't turn dark clean. The kitchen was great - clean and well-stocked with the essentials, even with a dish-washer and clothes-washer hidden behind a cabinet door. It was even stocked with the little things you end up buying when staying at apartments you rent through airbnb like - plastic wrap, foil, dish soap, dishwasher soap, sponges etc. And I have to mention how courteous and helpful Elodie, the director of the hotel, was. She even WALKED down the narrow ramp in the parking to help me park my big SUV. Okay -- so it wasn't all awesome. One "problematic" thing we experience was the street noise at night. There must have be a bar near the bedroom windows because we heard loud conversations well into the night. We used a white noise app my phone for the kids, who didn't have any problem falling asleep after a day of touring the city, but if you have kids that are very sensitive to noises, this might not be a good fit. But if you don't mind a little street noise, and want a nicely furnish and spacious accommodation in a fun, interesting part of Paris, this is the hotel for you. My family is already planning our next trip to Paris and will definitely...
