Enjoyed a very nice (if a bit on the small side), rich, full bodied, smooth, aromatic medium roast coffee here.
Clearly a lot of effort has gone into the Beans on Fire to create this fourth wave coffee house cum cafe that is clearly characterised by artisanal beans, full spectrum roasting profiles, farm to cup sourcing transparency, and meticulous brewing parameters.
They offer for sale their 'own brand' of selectively sourced coffee from the likes of Brazil, Columbia and Bolivia and specialty offerings such as single origin espresso's and can accommodate unconventional dairy alternatives (oat-milk etc). The cafe offers your typical esoteric minimalist, crisp, eclectic interior design where you can while away the time.
It is just an awful shame all the above endevours have been somewhat compromised by the petulant, surly, chap behind the counter who clearly feels he is too cool to rise above his obvious contemptuous disdain of everyone and actually engage with customers in a...
Read moreMy experience at this coffee shop was not very good. Despite its high ratings, I found the coffee to be average, though reasonably priced. The only negative comment has to do with the service. The staff appeared indifferent, more focused on their own conversations than on attending to customers. There was no greeting upon arrival, nor any acknowledgment when we left (we also brought out cups to the counter while leaving, would be nice to hear a thank you).
The atmosphere was disturbed by staff chatting loudly behind the counter, making it hard to relax and enjoy. It felt like their conversations took over the space, distracting from the coffee shop experience. It's my personal experience though.
Edit: I stopped by your coffee shop on 12th of May around 12pm. As for the coffee, as I said, it was average, but not bad. Mabe I'll give it another go in the near future. Thanks for addressing...
Read moreThe café is located very conveniently close to Sacre Coeur and it has two floors, which makes it not as crowded. The location is the only objectively good thing as the baristas were extremely rude and they seemed annoyed every time I spoke to them, even when saying some short phrases in French and trying to be as polite as possible. The food and coffee were nothing special to say the least, in my opinion it's not worth 13 euros for the quantity you're served and the coffee was below average for Paris; especially knowing that you can find way better options, with kinder baristas, more welcoming atmosphere and top quality food in 5-10 min walking distance. Personally would look for something else when in the area.
Response to the comment below from the café: it was on November 26th,...
