Maybe the team last might was different, or some of the previous posts were PR... we came excited for a great new place in our neighborhood - this isn't it.
The staff was clearly overwhelmed - took over 45 minutes for our starters to arrive and over an hour after that before the mains... I appreciate having time to enjoy one's meal but we spent most of the evening sitting in front of an empty table. That would be forgivable for exceptional cuisine, but that wasn't the case.
My wife's veloute des legumes tasted like someone boiled vegetables for a few hours and threw them in a blender (but didn't strain the end result after) to produce something flavorless and stringy. My salad d'avocat et poivrons was in fact a mixed green salad with a few small, sad pieces of avocado (along with the nub of the stem which they managed to include).
My wife's fish was cooked nicely but the accompanying vegetables were a mix of correctly vs undercooked. My pork was so dry I left 85% uneaten and the accompanying mushrooms had grit in them. Also worth noting that when they cleared my plate and saw the meat was uneaten, no one asked if there was a problem.
This experience wasn't just ours, the woman next to us looked so unhappy throughout her meal that I thought she would either punch someone or burst into tears.
Normally on Saturday night a restaurant has the "A team" working. Not sure what happened, but of this wad their best effort, I'm pretty sure there will be a new "new restaurant"...

Le 27 Madame is probably a perfectly satisfactory place to dine 90% of the time, but they have some serious issues which render the experience very unpredictable.
On the night we visited, Monsier was running the kitchen and Madame was front of house. The place was full of Americans (everyone except us) none of whom appeared to speak any French. Madame spoke no English...
Monsier spent more time in the dining room translating than he did in the kitchen cooking... With the inevitable result that service was hideously delayed. We waited over an hour for our main course and gave up on dessert after an hour and 50 minutes... Other diners who arrived after us were still waiting for their main courses.
The food was okay at best. Oversalted chicken and slightly watery cod... we had better food at more reasonable prices the following night in a local brasserie.
And whilst we can't blame the restaurant, the total monopolisation of the establishment by Americans - especially the loud overbearing Texan - was completely detrimental to the Parisian dining experience.
If you have ever wondered why otherwise well-received establishments occasionally get very bad reviews, this...
Read moreThe best dining experience I have had in Paris, without question. French or American - you will be served kindly and attentively.
The restaurant is family run, and is a key fixture of the community on Rue de Madame. Locals and tourists both frequent for a meal or drink.
The food is amazing. The chef (and father of the family) Dominique worked in many of Paris’s most popular restaurants throughout his career - including Cafe de Flore. The menu is a carefully curated selection of Paris’s best. Food is procured every 2 days, and if the salmon or avocado is not good you won’t find it on the menu. Dominique is a perfectionist and does not compromise.
The atmosphere is unbeatable- especially in the warm months. Always calm but lively. Starting in April they put out a fantastic front patio with sun shades and benches (not little round tables like you find at cafes). Much better suited for a meal or social outing.
I moved to Paris 2 months ago and hardly ever eat anywhere else, despite my best efforts to “explore.” Dominique (the father) and the son, Romain, both speak great English. The mother, Alexandrine, has limited English but a warm quality that does not require...
