While walking around and seeing the sights we stopped here for some pizza and water. The service was absolutely atrocious, even by French standards. We had to wave down the only waiter who seemed to be working, multiple times, and also watched him do the same thing to the rest of the tables near us. Not the end of the world but very annoying.
Then, when we were ready to pay, the Maitre d' ushered us inside to pay our bill. He seemed extremely annoyed that we wanted to pay with card and not with Euros. After begrudgingly pulling out two different credit card machine, he finally charged our card. Then he proceeded to swipe the card on the first machine which showed the green check mark with "paiement accepté" message displayed on the screen. This scu m bag then told us that it didn't go through. Even though we pointed to the screen to show that it did. He quickly exited out on the first credit card machine and swiped it again on the second machine... which did the exact same thing.
You cannot convince me that this was negligence. As this was a very busy Cafe right on the Seine River. This guy knowingly charged us twice, even after we called him out for the first payment which he claimed was "declined". Sure enough, we checked the credit card statement which shows two separate charges...
Do yourself a favor and eat literally any where else, unless you want to be charged twice for some subpar French attempt at a...

Oh, if only memories could be poured into a glass â I would order this very evening.
The cafĂ©, nestled right at the edge of the Seine, needs no grand name: it lives in the breath of the wind, in the flicker of lanterns on the waterâs surface, in the quiet laughter from the next table. The atmosphere feels like a forgotten page from an old letter, scented with lavender and time. Everything here is laced with something tender, something ineffably French â like a sigh between the words âstay a little longer.â
And then there was Bilac â the waiter. He didnât serve; he accompanied. Like a conductor in a light evening coat, he orchestrated each moment â with a smile, a glance, a note in his voice. The names on the menu didnât matter. What mattered was that you felt like a welcome guest in his small universe.
But oh⊠the cocktail. St-Germain. Like a kiss on the edge of sleep, like elderflowers blooming in a glass made of sunlight. It wasnât a drink â it was a revelation. Sweet, light, with a trace of melancholy. Just like Paris knows how to love â with trembling, with almost-tears, with the stillness of a held breath.
I didnât remember the name of the cafĂ©. But I didnât need to. I remembered how the river sounded when the ice in my glass...

The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that set the tone for a delightful meal. The star of my dining experience was undoubtedly the chicken dish. Perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and juicy. The flavors were well-balanced, showcasing the chefâs skill in seasoning. Accompanying the chicken were creamy mashed potatoes that were simply divine. They had just the right consistency - smooth and velvety, without being too heavy What truly elevated the experience was the exceptional service. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made excellent recommendations. They checked on us regularly without being intrusive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal The portion sizes were generous, providing excellent value for money. I left feeling satisfied but not overly full, which is always a sign of a well-balanced meal. In conclusion, this restaurant has certainly earned a spot on my list of favorites.
