Louise Café — Restaurant in Paris

Over two decades have passed since that formative meal, yet Louise Café remains a cherished cornerstone of my Parisian visits, an oasis of consistency in a city that thrives on reinvention.

The culinary offerings are nothing short of exquisite. This time, I began with the mini ravioli soup—a delightfully aromatic broth cradling tender parcels of pasta. Simple, unpretentious, and utterly divine. The steak tartare, a perennial favorite, arrived as an artful mound of seasoned perfection, accompanied by a medley of sides that elevated the dish to new heights. And, of course, no visit would be complete without the escargot. These tender morsels, bathing in a garlic herb butter that is the very essence of indulgence, were cooked to absolute perfection.

Louise Café’s appeal, however, transcends its cuisine. The ambiance—a delicate balance of rustic charm and understated elegance—invites patrons to linger over their meals, savoring not just the food, but the very essence of Parisian café culture. The menu, a love letter to classic French fare, reflects a dedication to tradition while accommodating modern palates.

To those embarking on their own Parisian journeys, I cannot recommend Louise Café highly enough. It is more than a meal; it is a passage through time, a return to a city that never ceases to enchant. In short, it is a must-visit for the discerning gourmand seeking authenticity, refinement, and a touch of nostalgia....

My experience at Louise was nothing short of amazing! 💖 Conveniently situated near the Louvre, you would thing many restaurants are tourist traps but Louise begs to differ! You get a bang for your buck and a wonderful experience altogether!

The Louise burger was hefty in serving and the patties were very juicey and cooked perfectly! 💖 If there was one thing that stood out for me, it was definitely the homemade mashed potatoes. It was light and airy but packed with so much flavor! 💖

The entrecôte we ordered was huge and, to my opinion, is enough a serving for two people. It was priced at €24, not bad comparing to other restaurants within the perimeter!

I ordered the Ratatouille and although it was tasty, wasn't my favorite. The eggs were poached beautifully though, and you are offered refills of bread for your meal to accompany your dish

You can opt to sit al fresco or inside. The service offered by our server, Joseph, was impeccable ! 💖 He was very attentive to our every request and he was very courteous throughout out dinner service

I paid around €190 euros for a group of 6 (including drinks). We went there for lunch at 2pm and it was still packed! 💖

I definitely recommend this...

Sadly, it was our least favourite meal during our 10-day stay in Paris last month. We had wanted to go to a restaurant in 4e but we found out it was closed on Monday when we walked up to the restaurant so we quickly did a search online and settled on this restaurant based on the reviews.

I had foie gras for entrée, beef tartare and my husband and I shared a tarte tartin for dessert.

The foie gras was OK but did not have much flavour to it. The condiments did not seem to go with it. The beef tartare was just off. It did not taste right and neither was the texture. I like beef tartare and what was served did not feel right. It felt like a lump of overly ground up beef from a food processor. The sides did not go with the dish either. I didn’t finish the dish. It was the only dish I couldn’t finish during my 10-day stay in Paris.

I think the biggest disappointment was the tarte tatin. Instead of apple slices, it felt like apple sauce sold in US...
