This restaurant has very high google rating, so we were expecting great things. Unfortunately, the experience yesterday evening was very bad. Entering the restaurant, ambience and decorations were very mediocre, and the open kitchen did not look very clean and neat. The stained spoons served later also proved my point here. But I didn’t want to jump to conclusion with my first impression, so we still sat down and took the 65 euros tasting menu. There, that was my mistake because almost nothing went right during the meal. Firstly, the service was very bad. The waitress might had a bad day, but she really did not have any enthusiasm for her job. I could even call her passive aggressive with no proper courtesy and manners to attend customers. She never looked at us in the eyes, spoke every quickly with no intention to wait for our questions or reactions, and when we said thank you each time, there’s rarely any response from her side and sometimes she was already in the other room. Kindly note that we were the very first table at the restaurant, when it wasn’t busy. Yet the waiting time for dishes was unreasonably long. Then, real disappointments started when food arrived. The little bite before l’entree was way too hot and there was no warning. I almost burned my tongue right away. The first dish with the scallop was decent - the only thing that earned one star in this review. Second dish with clams was terrible. The clams were not properly cleaned which left me sand in my teeth. Then I’m not sure if they were marinated twice were something but the clams were WAY TOO SALTY, and I could not swallow them without drinking water to dilute. The shell of the clams were in the sauce for no good reason as it adds additional salt and sand, and does not look good either. The third dish beef was once again a disaster. The beef was overcooked and did not have any shape. A good beef stew would be that the beef maintains its shape, while being tender, so that when the cutleries touch them, they break down easily and can melt in your mouth. Yet this dish failed the presentation completely, as beef fibers were cluttered to be served in a bowl in a very visually unpleasant manner - similar to a cluttered hair ball in your shower drainage. Then the beef was once again way too salty. The dish added pickled onions, which was sour, and marinated citrus fruit peels, which was sweet. The combination is a terrible bombard of strong flavors competing to numb your taste buds. The flavors do not go together at all, not to mention to be delicate and complimentary to each other. This main dish failed miserably in all aspects - presentation, flavors and textures. The forth dish supposed to be some cheese tasting. As it was taking ridiculous amount of time to arrive, we asked to pack them home. The cheese were far from delicate. Slices looked like you could find them in a supermarket. The last dish was dessert mille-feuille and we had it there. The innovation of the dessert is a complete non-understanding of what “feuille” means. There were only 3 layers, with thick creams among them. It felt not at all refreshing but greasy at the end. The design of the menu was a catastrophe. None of the dishes compliments one another. Extremely disappointed when our expectations were high. People often say that a good menu brightens your day. And this experience was the complete opposite. I had a relatively light mood entering the restaurant and the meal just ruined my evening. I left with disappointment and frustration and my felt my tongue was raped by the overkill of all sorts of flavors. I would not recommend it to anyone. I would not want to eat the same things even if I am paid to do so, not to mention that the menu was not...
Read moreFrom the impeccable, smiley, friendly and knowledgeable staff (they love their food and wines, and it clearly transpires when they talk about it) to the awesome and delightful food, it was all a great and delicious experience. The menu is short, with a choice of a fish/meat/veggie option for both starters and mains - all greatly executed with a twist that makes you scratch your head every time whilst your palate goes "yummy!". Slightly on the pricey side when you deviate from the (good) set menus, but a great find nonetheless! We were still discussing how delicious it was the following day, which is always the sign of a...
Read moreThe best restaurant I have been to in Paris so far! We ordered the €50 surprise menu plus €20 wine pairing, it came with 5 dishes, 1 dessert, and 5 glasses of wine for each dish. The wine pairing was a sweet surprise, especially the orange wine that paired with truffle cheese was exceptional! All the food was creative and delicious, truffle cheese was a must have. The service was very welcoming and attentive. It was the best experience I had in Paris. Reservation could only be made by phone and was highly recommended as the place became...
