Hwarang — Restaurant in Paris

What a shame that I had lunch in this restaurant today. I wanted a vegetarian tofu stew. I discussed it with my server, but there was a language barrier between Korean and French and English. I received the wrong stew and I sent it back and asked for the one that I had described. The restaurant charged me for both. The server told me that if I didn’t pay, he would have to pay from his small salary. What a shame of a restaurant to treat a server like that! So I paid 25€ when I should have paid 9€. I lived in Korea for a year and I would say this food isn’t very much like Korean food; at least the stews are not the same. The woman serving at the counter also was so rude. I also did not like all the dead flies outside and stuck between menu pages. When I saw that I nearly left, but I gave it a chance and I shouldn’t have. We were a group of six and ordered barbecues. The food, in general, tasted okay, but the rice tasted a bit odd (maybe reheated?), and given the price, IMO the portions were not generous. I ordered pork and squid barbecue, and unfortunately, I got more garnishes in the barbecue marinade than actual meat/squid. And when they were there, they were rather thin (the thinnest pork slices I've seen in Parisian Korean barbecues).

Overall, it doesn't taste authentic Korean (take it with a grain of salt as I'm not Korean, although I've spent a fair amount of time in the region). It was alright, and we had a nice time. It's run by Chinese staff who were welcoming, and the service was excellent! The...

Évitez à tout prix ! Nous sommes venus ici en raison de la note élevée sur Google Maps, mais notre expérience a été extrêmement décevante. Je vous invite à réfléchir attentivement aux inconvénients que je vais vous exposer avant de décider de venir ici.

Inconvénient 1 : L’espace est très exigu, en particulier si vous êtes assis à la table intérieure pour huit personnes près des toilettes. Tout au long du repas, vous aurez l’impression que quelqu’un vous pousse constamment, ce qui vous empêchera de profiter pleinement de votre repas. Les serveurs bousculent continuellement les clients assis aux tables intérieures, ce qui est très gênant !

Inconvénient 2 : Ils étaient très pressés de débarrasser notre table. Ils ont retiré nos baguettes alors que nous n’avions pas fini de manger. On aurait dit qu’ils voulaient nous pousser à partir rapidement pour servir la prochaine vague de clients. Je ne comprends vraiment pas pourquoi le personnel était si pressé. Ce soir, lorsqu’ils ont retiré nos assiettes, ils ont renversé maladroitement de la sauce sur mon ami. Est-ce vraiment nécessaire d’aller si vite ?

Pendant tout notre repas, j’ai entendu le personnel casser des verres en entrant dans le restaurant, renverser de la sauce pendant le repas et renverser des plateaux en débarrassant les tables à notre départ. Le personnel semblait vraiment pressé !

Inconvénient 3 : Les prix sont excessifs pour les portions servies. Nous étions quatre personnes et chacun a payé 26 euros, et pourtant, nous n’étions pas rassasiés. Compte tenu de cette expérience, le rapport qualité-prix est vraiment médiocre.

Le seul point positif est que la nourriture est délicieuse.

Je conseille sincèrement à ceux qui souhaitent déguster une grillade coréenne de bien prendre en considération les inconvénients mentionnés ci-dessus. Sinon, je recommande d’attendre pour le service suivant (2è ou 3è service), ou mieux encore, de envisager de visiter d’autres...
