We Love Coffee Paris — Restaurant in Paris

American living in Paris here~ Phenomenal coffee, phenomenal food/pastries. They are kind if you need to speak English, and just as patient if you'd like to order in French despite it not being your first language! Decent prices (especially for the quality), and the interior design and atmosphere are lovely. They do not allow computers, but I think that it's a much needed break from the typical cafe that has a million people on a computer screen occupying chairs for hours. There are plenty of those around if you need a different place to work ;) This is my favorite café to bring friends, enjoy an intimate conversation, and spend time catching up. Is there still war in Paris? At least the coffee taste like that. To quote an italian olympic commentator „The coffee tasted like they used water from the Seine.“ I was hugely disappointing. France is known for their revolution. I propose to start here. Noone can actually accept this „quality“. What has happend to the culture of french people desire to bring the best out of them. I‘d avoid Paris as a whole just to miss the coffee and especially this establishment. I would have given 0 stars...

Accueil crispé : fraîchement arrivé dans la bonbonnière, on vous observe attentivement. Certains aiment ça… Une cliente qui s’apprête à partir a droit à une réflexion accompagnée d’une grimace de déception : « Oh, vous partez déjà ?… » Une habituée. Vous, vous venez pour 20 minutes, le temps d’un café, et vous devez écrire un simple mot. Vous sortez un petit ordinateur, pour quelques secondes : trop tard ! On se précipite sur vous. Vous êtes aussitôt soupçonné de « nuire à l’ambiance » (authentique) et de vouloir « occuper une table toute la journée » (et on vous le dit comme ça, mais oui). Ici on ne fait pas ce qu'on veut : « Ce n’est pas un espace de co-working. » (superbe) Malaise dans la salle. Des regards se détournent, d'autres vous adressent un sourire discret : il n'y a pas d'autre café dans le quartier et le carrot cake bio est potable, alors bon... Il faut subir un laïus : « nous ne tolérons pas ceci », « nous chérissons cela », bien sûr pour notre plus grand bien, et en toute illégalité… Si d’aventure un écrivain se présente, on lui demandera d’écrire à la main et pas plus de 30 minutes : obligation de "se détendre", sinon dehors.
