Because we were staying near Sorza I walked over to the restaurant and made a reservation in person for our group of 5 for Saturday night for the 7:30 seating. It was our final night after 10 days in Europe and we wanted a special dinner for our final night.
We arrived a little before 7:30 and were the first seated for the 7:30 seating. The table we got was a table for 4 with a backless stool pulled up for the 5th member of our group. When my daughter, sitting on the stool, asked for a chair with a back, the owner told us that we shouldn’t have been given a reservation for 5 on a weekend, and there were no chairs available. My daughter said that a nearby table has 4 seats and only 3 people , I could use that chair. The owner seemed unhappy but let her use the chair. Later the owner, who had complained about seating 5, crashed into my daughters’ chair when she was walking behind it. An accident, of course.
After we ordered we received our appetizer and wine and waited, and waited, for the main dish. We were the first to order, but every other table had been served, and were mostly finished, before we finally got our food at 8:55. While sitting and waiting, we had decided that if we didn’t get the food by 9:00 we were just going to walk out.
But we did feel then, and now that it was no accident that every other table had been served and had about finished their meal before we were ever served. I don’t know why the owner seemed angry with us, but it made for an unpleasant night.
This is not a restaurant that we would recommend. I hate our group had to deal with this our final...
Read moreHad a wonderful lunch here today after Sunday mass. Thankfully, they could accommodate us despite not making any reservation. We had their French onion soup, chateaubriand and rocket + eggplant + chicken salad. French onion soup was the kind we like; light and not thick with cheese. Chateaubriand was tender and cooked to perfection (ordered it only because I saw someone eating it next to us). Salad was refreshing and light. Service was attentive and courteous — servers spoke English too. Menu proudly stated that all dishes are “home-cooked” from fresh raw ingredients except their ice cream and sorbet. Good to know. Btw, we requested for butter with our bread and they served Échiré (without charge)! Nice touch. We also observed that risotto was a popular choice among diners there. Worth a...
Read moreVery disappointing microwave-like food. Worst meal in Paris I bet had.
We ordered onion soup and arugula salad as starter, both were average. Everything following was unacceptably bad. We were expecting good Italian pasta, but all plates were disaster. Spaghetti with tomato and pesto was overcooked, no pesto was in the plate. Fettuccini with lemon chicken was also overcooked and the chicken has no flavor what so ever, tasted like frozen chicken breast in sour cream cheese. We also ordered their special of the day -boeuf bourguignon with mash potato, which tasted nothing like beef but badly made restructured meat.
To do the restaurant fair, the server was friendly and speaks...
