Booked in advance online after it was advertised on our hotel website, which gave us 30% off the table bill.

It was charming, small and cozy with candles and so typically a french restaurant. So it looked good.

We chose a sharing dish - sprats deep fried and also another starter of crayfish tails and salad with a small (VERY small) glass of wine and an orange juice, we also got a bread basket. The sprats were lovely, with a tartare sauce dip. the crayfish salad was lovely too......but TINY! It could have fitted into the palm of a small hand.

We had squid and octopus salad with truffle oil dressing (but didn't get the truffle oil dressing) and medallions of anglerfish and mash. Both meals were so small! The salad was ok. The anglerfish main was 3 small peices of anglerfish about the size of a large walnut and maybe a tablespoon of mash. We expected veg sides (you usually get them), but didn't get any and these were not apparent on the menu either. The fish had little taste and the mash was...well mash!

We ordered bricoche with mango ice cream and cheese and crackers for puddings. I was expecting a great selection, given we were in a country that loves its cheese. A slate was brought with 2 small pieces of brie......no crackers, another small basket of bread and a few green leaves. The brioche was ok. But just a slice on a plate with a ball of ice cream on the top.

We paid 75€, which included the 30% online discount, which to be honest was far, far too expensive for what we had. Had the food been stunning we would have been happier. But not only was it very mediocre, even bordering on poor, but the portions were dismal. We left and went back to the hotel to raid...

We saved Restaurant Victor for our final night in Paris and what a disappointment. The setting is absolutely charming but the food was a complete miss. They were understaffed on the Tuesday evening that we went. There were 2 waiters and a brand new bar tender and things were chaotic. We were seated right away as there were several open tables but it took 30 minutes for us to received water and have our order taken. It’s rude to wave in restaurants in Paris but we made eye contact many many times and still they didn’t come. We were about to walk out when the waiter that was not assigned to our table came over and we asked for water as there is no AC and it was still 80*F outside and warm inside. We finally placed our order. Our starters arrived. The burrata was excellent but the beef carpaccio was extremely tough and actually hard to consume. Our entrees were also unimpressive. The chicken was bland and the cod was undercooked and flavorless. We flew out the next morning and I tell you the truth the airplane food was better than the chicken and fish. Such a disappointment. The only redeeming factor was that the waiter taking care of our table finally apologized when we got our check. Otherwise I would have given the experience 1 star. Oh and I spoke French the whole time so it wasn’t even an “annoying/demanding” American thing. Such a true disappointment as we had high hopes based on some reviews. I hope it was just a bad night with a substitute chef but I would never try it again based on our experience. There are much better Brassieres and cafes around the corner at Trocadero and on...

We stumbled upon this quaint restaurant with exquisite pairings in 2019. We remember it fondly- we both had the duck and the appetizers were delicious. We enjoyed it so much that we decided to revisit it this evening; It was a stark difference.

To start there was two staff for a full restaurant which created longer wait times and delays. Water: We were charged 12.50€ -on our previous visit we were given tap water and not charged. There were other locals who were given tap water as well so it was specific to non-locals. The appetizers were adequate but small- we chose the scallops and asparagus. For our main course we chose the beef rump steak- as duck is no longer offered- and chose a medium well preparation. We both received our steak very rare- so bloody I was unable to eat it and had to send it back to be cooked more. Little did I know they prepared it very rare because the cut is so low quality that if you prepare it medium- which is what I ended up with after sending it back- it’s practically unchewable because the meat is so hard and there were some grey areas on the meat as well. We were very disappointed with every aspect- and for a 100€ plus meal we expected more. We will...

On our first night in Paris, the concierge at our hotel recommended Victor's. We were seated immediately in the most charming resteraunt I've ever seen, and by the friendliest staff I've ever known. At the end of the trip, we decided to go back as our last meal in France, and the staff greeted us warmly, having remembered us, and welcomed us back. Again, seated immediately, no trouble conversing or ordering in English, and all the food was wonderful. Fantastic wine as well, if you care for it. I had the risotto, and it was spectacular. If you visit Victor's I'm sure you'll love it. Thank you Nicola, our waiter, for making our first and last night in Paris so wonderful.

I was disappointed with the food I ordered. I wanted a French experience and picked this place that takes you back in time. However I would be ashamed to serve my home guest with the octopus they serve in this restaurant. The best thing I had was the bread and the butter. The dessert was not amazing, only decent. I think it is rather a place for les connaiseurs du vin, since they have some exquisite bottles. You would pay between 10 and 27 € for a glass so make sure you know what type of wine you like. Very noisy and no background music. Classy decoration and vintage posters on the walls. Value for money - 3/5 Staff - 4/5 Vibe - 2/5 Food - 3/5 View - 2/5
