Last night, I took the last table as a party of one in a small space with tables squeezed together. When the waitress approached me, I told her, "English," to which she responded by rolling her eyes and saying a soft but very audible, "UGH." This is my first experience at a restaurant in Paris, and true to what everyone else has told me, they sure do hate you if you don't speak French. I considered leaving but really wanted spicy beef noodle soup and xiaolongbao. I also wanted to share my entire experience with those who may consider going there, especially if they don't speak French. Ordering was easy through English, and my noodle soup came promptly. The temperature was hot, which was great. The flavor lacked depth, and there was no cohesion in the flavors with the beef, which were small cubes that tasted a little off. I've had much better spicy beef noodle soup. Xiaolongbao was good, but the sauce was brought to my table much later than the dumplings, which had left me to wonder if they served sauce with them. Tea kettle wasn't exactly clean (see photo). The lady that came by with the sauce was nice, though. I woke up this morning with eyes a bit puffy, which usually happens after consuming Asian dishes high in sodium (think MSG). There are lots of other places nearby that you should try instead of this one if you don't speak French.

Bonjour,1.

A gem of a Chinese restaurant. It's small, casual, and cozy with fair prices and great service. The waitress speaks somewhat limited English, but it was no problem at all! (As always, be empathetic and provide the courtesy of at least knowing bonjour/parles-vous anglais?/merci beaucoup.) She was so sweet and attentive. Vast menu. Great food. I would recommend the rice with pineapple and, unless you can't do spicy, the kung pao chicken. Definitely...
