XiAn Küche — Restaurant in Aachen

The place does not look really authentic, but the people inside are. Which is not necessarily a good thing, because Chinese people (I am one myself) are not known for their friendliness and their service. A lot of things we had to ask before we knew how things worked, drinks had to be brought to the table by yourself, ordering was downstairs instead of at the table and after eating the food tray needed to be brought downstairs (where the entrance was) by ourselves. Also, the place was ok'ish clean, but it didn't look clean. Neither was a lot of effort put in the decoration. This is reflected in the price, then again, which was not high. We paid about 30 euros for three persons including drinks.

The meal itself was reasonably well. The cooks (or singular, cook) did not seem to be professional and hence the noodles were a bit unevenly made and cooked, that is some noodles were too hard and some were too thick, but that shows it was really all hand kneaded. The hardness was fixed by letting the noodles stay in the soup for a few more minutes before eating it so that wasn't a big deal.

In all, the price quality is ok, and if you're looking for a quick meal without any of the fancy stuff, this is a good place to go. Do remember to order this without the spiciness if you don't like Sze Chuan spices, which are different from the ones most...

Alle die hier schlechte Bewertung geben haben keine Ahnung von Essen oder wirklich vielleicht mal die Ausnahme erwischt und Pech gehabt. Kurz für meine kredibilität, ich bin schon auf der ganzen Welt gewesen und habe Essen von überall probiert auch in Michelin Läden etc. und bin jemand der schon seit er klein ist alles gerne isst, was Qualität hat und gerne neues probiert. Also dieser Laden ist extrem authentisch Chinesisch, der Laden könnte genau so in China sein und alle die sich übers Ambiente beschweren verstehen nicht, dass man genau an diesem schon direkt nur durchs Aussehen die Authentizität erkennen kann (In China ist halt nicht der europäische Stil, sonder eher karg und pragmatisch eingerichtet). Wenn man dann aber auch das Essen versucht ist es sehr authentisch Qualitativ hochwertig selbstgemacht und geschmackvoll nach Chinesischer Art. Die Preisleistung ist auch einfach super für das was man bekommt, die einzige Kritik am Rande die aber nicht mal von mir selber stammt ist, dass die selbstgemachten BiangBiang Nudeln nicht auf dem Level eines Chinesischen Meisters sind der diese schon seit 50 Jahren macht, das meinte zu mir ein Chinesischer Freund. Was aber Kritik auf hohem Niveau ist, da man hier halt immernoch in Aachen ist und der Laden halt von Chinesischen Studenten betrieben wird und wie gesagt für das Level von Authentizität kann man einfach wenn man den Standort bedenkt, meiner Meinung nach nicht weniger als 5 Sterne vergeben. So ein Laden ist ein Segen und ich hoffe, dass dieser noch lange bestehen bleiben wird. Persönlich rege ich mich hier wirklich über alle negativ Bewertungen auf, da diese Leute einfach keine Ahnung haben was Chinesisches Essen ausmacht und wenn ich lese das Essen war „Fade“ einfach keinerlei Grund und Boden hat, wenn man weiß was Chinesische Geschmäcker sind (5 Spice (Sternanis, Kümmel,…) Chinesicher Essig, Chiliöl, andere Texturen), trotzdem wird das dann vielleicht nicht jeder Deutschen Zunge gerecht werden aber objektiv gesehen ist der Laden einfach unanfechtbar. Jedem kann etwas nicht schmecken aber wenn man Qualität und Authentizität betrachtet, kann man den Laden objektiv nicht schlecht machen. Tut mir Leid für meine Rage aber es musste einfach mal sein. Ich würde den Laden jedem empfehlen der in Aachen ist und Lust hat authentisch chinesisches Essen, mit Liebe zubereitet zu probieren. Wenn man allerdings nicht offen für andere Geschmäcker, Texturen einer anderen Kultur ist und nicht erkennen kann, dass man sowas nicht anhand deutscher oder italienischer Küche direkt Vergleichen/ Bewerten kann, sollte man lieber Schnitzel essen gehen. Was natürlich auch nicht schlecht ist aber bevor man dann „Möchtegernkritiker“ wird und meint „das Ambiente sei nicht toll“ oder das essen sei „fade“. Also super empfehlenswert, probiert aus aber seit offen für etwas anderes und eventuell neues für die Geschmacksnerven, dann sollte der Besuch für jeden zumindest ein...

Love it! I visited Xi'An (the Chinese city) a few months ago and craved the cuisine so badly after returning. This restaurant is super super authentic, the portion sizes are good and they have so many different types of flavours on the menu! Pick anything and it tastes good! I recommend the Pork Burger, it's well seasoned, fatty, and delicious. I usually don't enjoy vegetarian dishes, but those Vegetarian Biang Biang noodles are sooooo good!
