For the food, i think the taste was good, they probably got some fusion between indian and other culture. Lamb Biryani (Gosht Biryani) It was the wettest Biryani i have ever eat, the rice suppose to be dry. feels like eating risotto. for the taste, it taste good, just not a typical lamb Biryani. the rice doesnt have much lamb taste. more like just adding in the lamb later on. it does mixed well with the yogurt salad they provide. Malai Kafta the taste definuitely like authentic indian food, the gravy was amazing, it makes you keep eating. It is mixed very well with basmati rice. Sabzi Pakora it was really a good starter. first time eating this. well seasoned and fried. have a taste of muruku, probably because of chickpea. Mango Lassi and Salt Lassi lassi was just okay. they are not using fresh mango to make. not sure whether the yogurt is homemade. they just mix juices and yogurt. The overall experience was okay. we were placed to sit at the bar counter, it was not very spacious, not much leg room. the staff was okay, friendly enough.

Visited in a group of 4 and ordered a thali each. As we ordered both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian thalis, we got to taste pretty much everything. The food is not authentic at all. The tarka daal felt raw and not cooked enough. The Baingan Bharat lacked flavour. The malai kofta lacked the sweetness and complexity of flavour. Same for the jalfrezi. Too add spice, they gave us some store bought chilli-paste, not even Indian aachar. Overall, the food was very disappointing. I don’t remember the last time I had Indian food this inauthentic and flavourless. Additionally, it is unnecessarily expensive. The food does not, by any means, justify the price tag. Would not recommend at all if you already know what Indian food is supposed to taste like.

We booked a table two days ago, Igit ten minutes before the reservation and asked me to wait outside the restaurant in the cold until it was 19:30 The owner of the restaurant or the waiter is a arrogant man and he does not know why A year ago I ate at the same restaurant very expensive and the amount of food served was very small and the service was poor.

I would never recommend it unless someone huddled.

Over-priced, average tasting food combined with mediocre service. Of the 30 or so Indian restaurants I visited over the years, including in India, this one stood out for not offering free chutneys with its single, sad looking, oily Papadum. Very rare and a real disappointment. Plus, we were asked if we wanted water even before we got to ordering the main drinks. Normally, this means you are talking about free tap water for the table, yet the surprise came later. Then, there was a 30 minute wait until our vegetarian Thalis were served. Each had only 4 different dishes, many again quite oily. I had asked for it to be spicy, but it was mild. The only redeeming element were the Nan and the Roti, both well done with satisfying, flaky texture and complex flavor. The service was sadly quite 'matter of fact', disinterested and curt - we were not asked if we liked the food. The decor of the restaurant is bland and the tables are stacked closely. Finally, the prices are high given the quality. One Thali costs 18 Euro. A bottle of water costs 6 Euro. To put this into perspective, these are prices that are higher than in Central London where a better Thali at a top Indian restaurant costs 13 British pounds, ie about 16 Euro. Different counties, different prices, but this restaurant clearly benefits from the lack of competition in Baden-Baden, with only one other Indian restaurant. I can't recommend it if you have previously enjoyed the absolute delight of a really good Indian restaurant and would instead suggest going to Karlsruhe where there are several much...

We booked this place on phone while returning from South. We reached Baden Baden quite late. Normally the experience in such cases is at best mediocre to at worst poor. But at Namaskar we could enjoy true Indian hospitality.

The chief hostess (probably also Owner of the place) was delightful and very patient while we settled down with two kids and many tired adults. And equally patient was the waiting staff. Everything we ordered and I mean everything, was impeccable. One can immediately tell that they use high quality ingredients from the tenderness of meat and freshness of Paneer. The preparations were suited to everyone's palette as the chef took extra efforts to tune same dishes at various degrees of spiciness for different people.

The place is just around the corner from the main square in Baden Baden. Although small, it's well appointed and classy.

Highly recommended and I would definitely seek another opportunity to visit there.

Notable mention: we tried all biryanis - vegetarian, chicken and lamb. All were delicious and subtly different in taste....
