Visited AERA as I saw they were part of some show about gluten free bakeries and since I was in Berlin, I decided to stop in to check it out. I was not disappointed the bread. I got the grilled cheese sandwich was on special that day and a cappuccino. The bread was so good as was the cheese they used. Couldn't tell if it was gluten free or not, just good bread. Having said that, I would definitely share this with one other person. The richness of the cheese and size of the sandwich was a bit much for one person IMHO but I was able to finish. Just a fabulous place and they had a variety of other GF treats available but I was full from the sandwich. The place is hidden away in a court yard and when I was walking there using Google Maps walked right by it... only until I noticed the black banner outside the courtyard reading "AERA" did I know I was in the right place or near it. I walked through the archway entrance into a courtyard with tables and there it was!

FINALLY! Good gluten-free bread in Berlin. No, not just good, PHENOMENAL. As a celiac who is also very much a foodie - and bakes her own sourdough as well - I don't even bother with bread from anywhere else in this city because it's just not worth eating. I've been to some of the best gf bakeries in the world and AERA is fully on par with those. What Ava has created here is amazing. The only downside? She's just getting started so she only has loaves of bread and an assortment of cookies (+ Bonanza coffee) so far, but I've also tried her delicious croutons and pizza and watched her experiment with croissants, cinnamon rolls and the like, so I know she's capable of making anything and everything deliciously gluten-free. Here's hoping she grows quickly because Berlin (and visiting) celiacs desperately need her to feed them! Also, this space is really beautiful and a pleasure to enjoy a cup of coffee in.

Completely gluten-free bakery/café. They have a nice selection of bread and baked goods, but not all that kid-friendly. We tried the sourdough bread, chocolate cake, brownie and cheesecake. I would recommend the cheesecake 👍 The cake was pretty dry, but the brownie was good although very rich in taste (great for adults). For me the star of the show was the sourdough bread. Very nice taste and doesn’t taste gluten-free. It does crumble a little, but overall a really nice bread with a nice sour taste to it (again better for adults). Definitely wins a lot by being toasted. The prices are high, but for gluten-free pretty fair.

Wonderful place. Best service ever, best tasty Gluten free bread. Interiors are nicely sophisticated. Banana bread also Canelé were incredibly delicious. Personally I make gluten free bread for my family because of celiac disease my family have, and actually It costs more than 5 EUR (and also less than 1 kg) by ingredients only. and not as tasty as AERA's bread for sure. Also even if you compare with the other gluten free bread shop in town, it is not expensive. I would say it is very fair price. Overall, it is super nice place when you are around Ku'dam. We will definitely come back for the other cakes.

Added 2022 --------- It is still a wonderful place to visit, or even better than ever. Coffee tastes wonderful, so does cakes. Especially love with bask cheese cake. It is Incredibly tasty! Also I wanna mention that they have nice, I warm customers. They are blessed...
