If anyone wants to spend money treating bees to pancakes, this is the place to go. I rarely ever leave negative reviews for any restaurant, but today’s experience was extremely disappointing.
During my meal, I sat at the innermost table indoors, yet I was constantly surrounded by bees. I tried to shoo them away several times without success—some even landed on my food. I was frightened, my heart started racing, I felt physically unwell, and my hands turned cold from fear.
After this happened multiple times, I called over the waitress. I started by politely apologizing for bothering her and complimented the food, which was indeed delicious. Then I brought up the issue with the bees. She told me it wasn’t their problem and that “Berlin is just like this.” I’m not sure if it was because of my Asian face, but she asked if I lived in Berlin. I said I live in Milan, and she repeated that Berlin is just like this during this season.
I told her I was feeling very uncomfortable and couldn’t finish my meal, but she said there was nothing she could do. She even asked, “What do you expect me to do?” At that point, I wondered—who’s the customer and who’s the service staff?
I felt physically terrible and had no choice but to pay and leave quickly. I’m a fair person—the food was genuinely tasty—but at the same time, even half an hour after leaving the restaurant, I still felt heart palpitations...
Read moreif you’re anything like me, you know it’s very easy to get lost in all the delicious looking breakfast options on the weekend, which could have devastating consequences such as no longer having the appetite for breakfast by the time you’re done deciding 😱🤯
annelies, with their amazing tasting and heavenly looking breakfast, makes it very easy to forget everything else and just come here. i have never tasted such cartoonishly good looking food, i felt like spongebob having a krabby patty or a looney tunes side character following the smell of a delicious meal while floating and finally having a bite of it!
beware of the waiting times, i would suggest getting your name written in the list and then taking a quick stroll on the streets. they accept card only (too technologically advanced for this city), so if you don’t have a debit/credit card, this wait is the perfect time to go to a bank and get yourself a card.
the menu is thankfully not that complicated, and every item is a safe choice, so you can honestly just close your eyes and order whatever your finger lands on (the menu).
another thing to keep in mind is the portions are quite big, and most of the items can be shared by two people.
the staff is super nice, speak flawless english (and german), and the people dining in seem to be...

The outside tables could be better. They are a little too dilapidated for my taste.
Our waitress was kind, quick and did a great job. However, there is the person at the front desk who was nothing of that kind. For her defense, we booked a table for 5 person, upgraded to 6 persons and when we sat down we asked if it would be possible to upgrade to 8 persons, because 2 more friends were on their ways. The friends got a little delay. The front desk person came to our table 3 times within 10 minutes and asked when they will arrive and the third time she basically came to take the chairs away. Thank god (and to her grace..) she gave us 5 more minutes to wait for our friends.
I understand that the business needs to make money, i also understand that people are waiting. But to harrass guests at such a frequent level is not tolerable. If you are a gastronomic establishment, you should cut your guests some slack. Especially if we are talking about 10 minutes. This is not acceptable and a very rude way to communicate.
Unfortunately we will not come back or recommend this place any further because of the mentioned person. Her behaviour is incompatible with guest friendly gastronomy...
