An unexpected turn of events during my Berlin trip had costed me 2,000 euros!
I set foot in Berlin for the very first time. Just a two-day adventure with my friends. Our plan was to visit the TV tower and to enjoy city's sights. Along the way, we decided to grab a bite at what seemed like a decent restaurant @heritage_berlin. We ordered four Aperol Spritz cocktails. Then the disaster had occured. The waiter had clumsily dropped the tray and the cocktails were spilled on me and on the table. My brand-new 100-euro sneakers were soaked in cocktail liquid. My socks were soaked in cocktail liquid as well.
Cocktails were also spilled on my expensive Sony 7C camera and my iPhone which was snuggly tucked into a leather case.
The result? Our evening was ruined. The entire trip to Germany took a nosedive. My impression of Germany was soured (the service was, without a doubt, the worst). I had to say goodbye to my sneakers, my socks, and that leather phone case. As for the nearly-new camera and lens, they now require either a refurbishing or at least replacement parts. To add insult to injury, they have to be shipped to a service center in Warsaw, which means I'll be camera-less for a month, at least. Will it look like a new camera again? Well, take a wild guess.
The restaurant manager did her best to make amends, constantly apologizing and offering her business card. I reached them out by email, but they haven't been answering me for 4 weeks already.
In short, a word of caution for anyone planning a trip to Berlin: steer clear of this restaurant or be prepared to wear a full-on diving suit and leave your expensive belongings behind. Otherwise, you might end up losing everything and spend months seeking compensation, without even a hint of moral support. If you're lucky, they might cover the camera repair bill, but don't count on anything more. At least you should understand that your camera will be in a water damaged and repaired status, so say goodbuy to a good reselling price. 😢 #heritagberlin #heritagerestaurants...
Read moreThis is the first time I’m writing a review while still dining. So far, a small appetizer and a lobster soup, the food is fine. Not very special, but good. But this is after 2 hours and 15 minutes and we are getting really hungry!
They have themselves booked up wille not arranging enough staff. After 30 minutes of no attention we got some bread and a wine, that should go with the appetizer. Which, after another 45 mins was long finished. Then again it took 45 mins for a small cup of soup. We stared with the children a betting game when they will take away our stuff and bringing the next. We’re here for 2h15 now with a soup and little strip of salmon.
The consequences of shortage of staff is there is zero attention for the customers. We notice more complaining or tiring customers around us. They forget bringing you water, forget spoons for the soup, forget to take all the dirty dishes from the previous course, and you can not get a hold of them as literally run around.
And no kidding, I booked this 6 weeks ago and had to pay € 500 in advance! For which amount I expected more sophisticated food but above all a little more attention and less waiting. An absolute embarrassment for such an allegedly...
Read moreThe first words that left Elias’ mouth made me feel like an old friend returning after many years! I have never encountered such welcoming, warm and friendly service in my life. I usually take meal recommendations with a grain of salt, however, Elias was extremely attentive and confidently steered my selections after considering my appetite and palate, ultimately resulting in an exquisite dining experience.
All staff are extremely vigilant, you could not ask enough of them, your wish is literally their command. I even had the pleasure of meeting Kader the restaurant manager who was running around just as much as the wait staff! Clearly leading by example with his wonderful personality.
The tuna, ‘Satisfyer’, ‘I love chocolate’ and gin/ginger cocktail were delicious. I cannot flaw a single thing.
The view, which initially enticed me to dine at Heritage, turned out to just be the cherry on top. This restaurant is a MUST...
