Quite ok but not worth the price point
Went there with wife and baby.
Nice location which is most probably its downfall.
Food is good but only ok if considering the price point. Fish soup quite good but Spaghettini with Fish Ragout lacked any kind of fish (ok there was maybe 100g of fish in it). Pasta ok but nothing outstanding at all.
Waitresses are very nice but unfortunately no one ever asked me if I like to have another beer - they were happy to look at my empty glass. Water bottle was on the table but glasses never proactively refilled.
Went there with a baby and it’s borderline ridiculous that this place doesn’t have a proper changing facility. In the end my wife changed the baby in the wardrobe room - I mean really???
Generally we thought that our baby was an annoyance for the chief waitress.
I think they try to be a fine dining restaurant for politicians and journalists having a business lunch but compared to cities like London they need to up their game in terms of service. Being based on NYC and London I’ve seen much better in the same price range.
Most probably they would have served me better if I would have worn one of my suits.
We had one waitress who really liked our boy so it’s with shame that all in all, we most probably won’t come back.
If you are so keen to be a top notch place, then you guys need to up your game. This restaurant tries desperately to be in the upper class but to do so service/ food needs to be improved. Most probably they think what they...
Read moreOverall nice food but for a high end restaurant the service was let down by the following. One waitress dropped the knife on me. At the same time she spilled a bit of food on my expensive top. Rather than hurrying to give me a bit of cloth to clean up, she was tidying up the rest of the table and picking up the cutlery from the floor instead as if nothing had happened. There was no sense of urgency or genuine apology. After waiting for a few minutes, I spoke to the manager to ask for some cloth to clean up with. Five minutes later, she finally came back with a wet cloth.
A different waiter told me that we could order half portions of pasta dishes. And so we ordered TAGLIOLINI NERI CON CRUDO DI TONNO, BURRATA E PISTACCHI. When the bill came, the price was definitely much more than the 50% of the menu price. I asked the waiter whether it was half the price and he said yes. I ended up paying anyway. I checked the bill later and it turned out to be much more than the 50% of the price. It's a bit misleading.
Don't believe when the waiter tells you that pasta portions can be served in half portions because in reality you end up with half the amount and instead pay about 70%.
We had the starters which were octopus and the tuna tagliolini. They were well made and tasty.
The main which was the monk fish was quite underwhelming and rather boring after a few bites. (The waiter recommended this dish)
So my overall experience is a mixture of...
Read more4 stars for the food, but 1 for the rest - On the bright side : good products, well cooked pasta, fantastic pork belly starter (dish of the day). Nothing groundbreaking but a true, very "honest" cuisine. On the less bright side : the service was desperately slow (it took me overall 2 hours to dine, on my own, with a starter and a main course. I had to wait 30 minutes for the bill and ask for it twice- and I still had to wait for 10 minutes after the second ask). The vibe inside is quite snobbish, targeting standards that the cuisine, although good, doesn't justify at all. I don't like it when restaurants overplay their standing : simple, but flawless efficiency is where true luxury is, not this kind of silly mannerism. At last, the overall atmosphere feels pretty old school (staff, and clientele). Decoration is nice but... they should really change these paintings (still the old...
