Hoa Rong — Restaurant in Berlin

We visited this place on our first night in Berlin. It was recommended by friends who visited it 2 years ago.

The entree was good and what you would expect of a spring roll or dumpling. A mistake was made as my SO received the wrong wontons but she didn’t make a remark on this and ate the dish served.

The main dishes we’re horrendous. We chose to share dishes as this would be cozy. What a mistake we made… We chose 3 of their SPECIALTIES!!! The meat was was burned and there was no taste of eggplant at all. The scalops were raw and the chicken skewers were good but nothing to write home about.

The udon noodles didn’t have any seasoning and were just boiled noodles. 3.50 € for this… The rice was plain white rice as we expected but was very dry. The vegetables again no seasoning at all.

After complaining to our waitress about the food, her reaction was ‘oh I’m sorry’ but you could clearly tell from her facial expression that this wasn’t the first complain regarding the beef. It was clearly visible that the meat was burned. No compensation was made.

This night out cost us 66€. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody.

By the way, pricing your TAP WATER at 6,50€ is a robbery...

Firstly, I was charged double the bill. I was charged 270 EUR instead of 130 EUR. The waiter didn't even show us the screen before asking us to tap the card. Secondly, the team didn't even notify us, and we had to tell them the next day. Thirdly, I had to continuously follow-up just to receive my own money that was taken illegally. And then they proceed to lie about sending the money immediately when it was actually sent 3 days after.

Hoa Rong team, please don't try to even defend this as I can easily just attach all screenshots and pictures to justify the same to the Google team if you proceed to report defamation.

You first make your customers go through this experience and then take your own time to return the money.

And then you accuse us of making the mistake without even checking your security cameras. The audacity you should have to do this to customers is...

Wir waren hier am Freitag, den 13. Oktober 2023 und zwar vor unserer Festival of Lights Tour (vom Brandenburger Tor bis zum Alexander Platz). Das Lokal ist aufgrund seiner Lage sehr touristisch, jedoch war es eine Empfehlung einer Freundin, weshalb ich mich dazu überreden lies. Die Einrichtung ist ganz charmant, die Hocker sind relativ bequem (für einen Zeitraum von max 1,5 Stunden). Leider war die Terrasse im Hinterhof nicht mehr zugänglich, weshalb wir drinnen Platz nehmen mussten. Das war eine Zumutung. Hätte ich meine Kopfhörer auf die Lautstärke eingestellt mit der wir im Restaurant beschallt wurden, wäre ich darauf aufmerksam gemacht worden, dass dies hörschädigend sei. Warum wird man so stark beschallt, dass eine normale Unterhaltung nicht mehr möglich ist. Durch die enorme Lautstärke der Musik, reden natürlich die Kunden sehr lautstark miteinander, wodurch es einfach nur anstrengend wird sich hier aufzuhalten. Ich bat den Kellner die Musik leiser zu stellen, bekam jedoch die Rückmeldung, dass dies nicht möglich sei: Musik an oder Musik aus (dies waren angeblich die zwei Optionen). Wir bestellt trotzdem, da uns keine Alternative einfiel und so bekamen wir zur Vorspeise die Sommerrolle mit Garnelen und das magische Trio (Dim Sum). Zum Hauptgang wählte ich das Signatur Dish "Sapa's Treasures" und meine Begleitung das Gericht "Under the Sun". Mein Essen war interessant, die gebackenen schwarzen Klebreisknödel sowie der Tofu waren gut, jedoch stand zu diesem Zeitpunktin der Karte, dass dazu ein Avocadosalat serviert wird und dem war nicht so. Ich erhielt einen Blattsalat mit drei kleinen Stücken Avocado als Garnitur. das andere Hautgericht war wesentlich besser, Portionsgröße eher klein. Zu guter letzt war auf unserer Rechnung ein Getränk aufgeführt, das wir nicht hatten. Das viel nur auf, da wir im Vorhinein die Summe grob überschlagen hatten. Daraufhin ließen wir uns die Rechnung zeigen, der Fehler viel auf und wir haben das Getränk natürlich nicht bezahlt. In Summe war das kein gelungener Aufenthalt, ich werde dieses Lokal nicht mehr besuchen und empfehle jedem die Rechnung vor Bezahlung...
